Gadget repair SEO agency

Hi all,

My other journey is still on. This journey is going to bring me in some extra cash ... or waste my time completely. I have no idea.

Basically, Google banned ads that target gadget repair services that contain brand keywords. For example iPhone repair Leeds is no longer showing paid ads (at least here in the UK). This means that in order for companies to show up on Google, they will have to do SEO and it's likely that they don't know how to do it. So, this is where we come in.

However, this agency will also do web development as well as social media as extra services. All I need to do to build sites is install a template from Template Monster or something (buy multi-domain license, etc ...). That won't take long and it won't cost much. I can also outsource entire process.

Anyway, this is business model:

Website redesign/redevelopment/design/development - £500 (or, let's say $750 if US client) + £50/year from the second year for maintenance

SEO - £300 / month or £500, I am not sure yet.

Social Media services - £200/mo (outsource someone to do daily posts on social networks or something).

Marketing strategies:

Create a few sample sites and rank them #1. The footer will say something like this: Developed and marketed by [my company name]. Hopefully some competitors analyse the site and see my actual agency's site and decides to use the services (or buy my site that I already did and marketed for £1,500 or more ... or something).

Facebook ads - I haven't had much time to work on it yet ... perhaps a case story or two targeting those who own stores ...

Blogging - not targeting specific keywords all the time but rather questions like "How do I SEO my gadget repairing website?", "How much does it cost to build gadget repairing site", etc ...

Contribute on gadget and business forums - or outsource entire process. Have links in the signature, etc ... or perhaps buy banner ads on these forums.

Banner ads - buy ads on various gadget and business (related to tech) forums.

What are my goals?

I will call this business successful once I grow to £30,000 / mo ... that's only like 60 retainer clients who pay me £500 or 100 who pay me £300 per month. Across the whole globe - there are tens of thousands of such stores ... if not more ...

... or I might end up wasting my time and money ... who know but I am positive.

Progress so far:

Development clients (active/done): 0/0
Monthly service clients (SEO/SMM): 0/0
Total monthly revenue: $0/mo

Depending on the service area, I bet you could charge about 1000/month for SEO services.

Also, selling a site that is already ranked would probably be worth more than 1500, considering it’s a ready to go asset that can bring them customers for a looong time.

Do you know what the average margins are on a repair job? That will combined with how much traffic a site gets will help you price out how worth it these sites can be.

How are you planning on getting clients? Depending on which route you wish to go I may have some golden nugget advice for you.

Of course. In London, there is so much competition. Even if narrowed down to boroughs ... I mean I wouldn't look for "iPhone repair London" but rather "iPhone Repair Brixton".

Yes. The site I was thinking about was in a quite small town ... only 140 searched a month but even then, I am sure that it would be worth £2,000 or even more ...

I don't know the margins but I will certainly look at that before I fully launch.

No need for PM, I want every BHW member to see this in case they run across this thread looking for direction.

For landing clients, this works disgustingly well. Keep in mind you’ll still be cold emailing, but it does work as long as you’re persistent and don’t give up after only 100 emails.
