Hey y'all!

I do not know why, but On-Page SEO is underestimated by most of the users and SEO's (we do not even have a separate board for this here), which is a huge mistake. In fact, my SEO strategy consists of approx. 80% On-Page and only 20% Off-Page work.

Since I am new here, I want to give something to the community before asking for anything in return.

I figured out that maybe the best way to do this is by posting a thread where I will give FREE advices to users. If it is useful for you and we get some discussions going it will be a great place to improve your website SEO just by learning from the mistakes of the others.

What you should do?

Just post a link to your website in the comments and I will reply to you with the first On-Site / On-Page SEO problem that I find.

It will be one comment = one problem.

Let's get those links rolling :D

You joined yesterday and you want people to share their website with you.

Moreover you want people to share it publicly in this thread.

Ok, PM me, I will answer here without exposing any details about your site or URL.

Hm, I haven't thought about that someone will be suspicious. I will edit my thread, if someone is interested they can also PM me, but I will answer publically, so it should be helpful for the readers as well.

Great initiative, but doubt that many people will post links here in public.

Yeah, do not thought about that someone might heart you or doing some negative stuff to your website if you are their competition and expose your website publically.

EDIT: I cannot edit my thread, so you can also PM me if you do not want to post your link in the thread. I will answer here (not via PM), but I will not expose your url or any sensitive information that might lead to someone finding your website.

Yeah I think it's going to be a bit hard for you to get people to share their websites with you without having any credibility in here.
Either way, if it's legit, we appreciate it.

I know that I am new and I can not prove that my intentions are good, so it is up to you to decide if you should trust me or not.

Think about it this way - if this thread is not legit I will probably be banned in a couple of hours :D

Interested

Thanks, you are the first who's not so suspicious. :D

Your website <H> tags are complete mess. The <H> tag is used by Google to identify important content and headings in the articles.

You have numerous <h3> and <h4> tags that you need to get rid of.

Also, almost all of your links are inside <h2> tags which is a huge mistake. The <a> tag should not be enclosed with <h>.

Mate build some reputation first before asking for people’s website

Well, as I said it is up to you whether you should trust me or not :) I am not selling anything and do not want anything in return. By this thread I was hoping to quickly build some reputation and posts which are actually helpful for the community.

The problems are coming from your theme. The easiest way to do this.

1. Style the elements
  • Open the source code of your pages (Ctrl + U).
  • Find the <h> elements.
  • Go back to your website and inspect the unnecessary elements (right click over them).
  • Copy their style. For example:
Code:
h2 {
font-size: 20px;
color: #000;
}

You should copy the elements you want to keep like size, colors, margins, etc.

Go to your WP child theme via an editor and paste the style you want to keep with different classes. You might place it in the default stylesheet file or if your theme provides a field for custom CSS. For example:

Code:
.new-h2-style {
font-size: 20px;
color: #000;
}

2. Get rid of <H> tags - easiest way for me.
  • Download your theme files via FTP with a program such as FileZilla.
  • Search through the files for something like "<h2". For such a quick jobs I am using Notepad++.
  • Find the theme files which are putting <h2> tags and edit them.
  • Replace the tags with div or span elements contatining the new class you created above.
For example:

Code:
<h2>content</h2>

Will become:

Code:
<span class="new-h2-style">content</span>

You should get the idea. You need just a basic HTML and CSS skills, like 1-2 hours of reading if you are a completely newbie.

Thread moved.

Oops :)

Good giveaway, but I'll not share my page here, I doubt that anyone will share it

Yeah, I learned this the hard way :D nvm, some users have pm'ed me which is also an option.

You need to start with the basics. I know I said that I will give one advice per comment, but here is some basic stuff:
  1. You don't have any content - try writing some explanatory posts or content to pages. FAQ's will be also a good starting point. You may get some long-tail traffic and also will help users like me that do not know what is all about :)
  2. You have internal cannibalism (same pages loading via multiple URLs).
  3. Lack of canonical.
  4. Empty metas.
  5. Stuff loading after the closing </body> tag.
  6. No robots.txt.
And many, many more. There is nothing done in terms of SEO.

Most important of all is to add some content. Then you can just find some basic SEO bla-bla stuff from any blog which will point you in the right direction.

After this is done, feel free to resubmit it to me to get some missed stuff if you want.

Thank you for the giveaway, do you need our passwords as well? :)

No, thanks.
