You have an excellent idea "sell designer jeans" but...
For all your time, effort and investment you cannot be sure of success.
It is hit or miss.
It does not scale
It is not a business. It is self employment.
A business is a SYSTEM that you can repeat as many time necessary to meet your goals.
So I will share one of the great secrets of The Eye. A great secret. Could even cause my World Continuum Plan™ to fail....
But it's ok, because it's secret and it's just between us.
It is the secret of the OED / OEM.
Original Equipment Designer. Original Equipment Manufacturer.
YOU must become the designer of the "Designer Jeans" you sell. And you must sell other things than just jeans. You have to have a complete line (jeans, sun glasses, watch, t-shirt, bag, etc)
So find my other post - Mini-Blueprint 2.0. and add the following to it.
1) Create a Fashion Brand. Brand name is the key. Shopify has a Fashion Brand generator you can use. You must have the domain for the brand.
2) Get a Fashion Logo using Fashion Fonts for your brand. It is going to go on your clothes, so take time and make a good one.
3) You will also create 5 to 10 other "Fashionista" type websites that will autoblog fashion news and videos as well as OTHER fashion sites you are affiliates of. As they gain credibility, they will promote your designer brand. You are piggybacking upon other designers. Create an Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest account for each and have a plugin that autoposts your articles to those accounts.
4) Go to Alibaba and look for OED or OEM providers for what you need (jeans, glasses, etc). Find a good jeans design with a low minimum order. That is what these people do. They will take a design and sometimes even change it, and put YOUR label or custom image on it. Look on the torrents for some of the China Import - Export Courses. They will tell you everything in detail.
5) You order & pay, they pack and ship them to you.
6) You will sell them on your WooCommerce store that has the Affiliate WP plugin (download from GPLDL) installed. So you have your own Fashion line, your own Store and your own affiliate program.
7) Start inviting all your social media contacts and influencers to join your affiliate program. You want them working for YOU
8) Go to every Fashion Week and Fashion Show you can. Give away your card. Drop off post cards on networking tables, post them on boards, etc. Talk to everyone and let it be known you are expanding and are looking for hot new designers for your label. Go to parties and any kind of event and talk to everyone.
9) Look trendy. Be NICE to everyone and when you are talking to them make sure they are the most important person in the world to you. Never say anything bad about ANYONE! Wear a suit (Zegna, "Oh, it's not a suit. It's a Zegna". never Gucci) Wear expensive shoes if you can. A rich man is known by his expensive shoes. No egos. Let them have the ego and you "understand them" because of their "art".
10) Go on EBay and buy "Fashion Babylon" to understand a little of the world you have entered.
11) Everything is easy so far. Now the tough part. You have to learn to PERFECTLY pronounce the names of at least the top 50 designers. So visit websites, make a master list and start searching on how to pronounce them. There are videos that teach that.
12) Remember that the fashion industry is a big scam. Example - If a major label sells 40 billion a year it will be broken down like this -
Ready to wear - NONE
Couture (handmade or limited edition clothing) - 5 Billion
Fragrance - 10 billion
Accessories - 25 Billion
So they spend untold money on promoting clothing (small market) to give credibility to the other junk accessories they sell, stuff that you can have made cheaply in China under your own label.
Remember, have your own products and CONTROL THE SUPPLY CHAIN.
Everything else is marketing and everyday there are new customers.
And when this one works, create another line and REPEAT.
