I don't know how many of you are using this feature but it seems to be working just fine on my end.

Every now and then I use the "Mark as Announcement" button on post of groups and the result seems great. After usage, each groups gets a bunch of member requests.

I have an entertainment website that publish articles about artist and actors.
Recently, I have been creating groups particularly about each top artist and other acts, and to my surprise, its working awesome in terms of growing memberships.

I'm getting like +500 members per day (sometimes +1000) organically with mostly photos and videos posts.
Members seem to believe that the groups are run by the artists and other acts.

Try it and tell me what you think.

let me get things clear, is it Facebook Group or Page?

Facebook Groups (linked to Main Page).
The groups are "open" but only admins can accept members to join.

I schedule content (aleast +2 photos, +1 videos daily) to the groups daily.
The group posts are getting high engagement in minutes as well.

I also, share some of the group posts to my Facebook Page so that the posts gets more engagement and reach.

I also share related content from Main page to the grops as well. Only content that related to a particular act. This way the members get content exclusively of the acts they are interested in.

Members are reacting to the groups as if they are acknowledging that acts and many members are inviting their friends as well.

This is one of my groups.

Good. Another thing, dontjust use the celebrity name. Add more to it like:

Celebrity: Lil Wayne
Use: Lil Wayne plus song name (Lil Wayne No Worrioes or Lil Wayne Forever) or Lil Wayne Cash Money

That's great... Thanks for the tips.. will give feed back

Update: group reaches 85K with -21% over the last 28 days.
This decrease may be caused by the fact that I was posting less frequently and have not used the "Mark as Announcemnet" much lately.
I have used the feature 4 times since the creation of this thread.

Nevertheless, the group is still growing at a decent rate.

Why use "open" groups instead of using closed groups ?

I would like to know the same.

I use "open group" simply because of the fact that propects of the group will be able to preview content in the group.
Imo, if they like what they see, most likely they will join the group.

Update after two months:

Note that the engagement went down as I was on vacation for 3 weeks in July and was not really focusing on the group during that period.

Did you make any FB ads at the initial stage to grow the pages?

For the page that group is linked to, yes. However, I have not run ads for years for that page.

Okay great. I know pages at some point begins to get organic likes. I am just finding it difficult growing a few pages I started so I ran worldwide ads and got 10k likes but mostly from 3rd world countries. I then narrowed down to USA and UK but hardly got likes.

The page is a movie celebrity page and I keep up with updates I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or maybe I should change niche. What do you suggest?

Note that this thread is about groups and not pages.

These days, its certainly not easy to build pages like the old days. Facebook made sure of that.

However, you can consider, if you have the time, joining other groups and sharing your page content in them.
For instance, if your page is about Eminem, join groups related to Eminem and share your page's content to them.
