It's utterly retarded, that's what I think of it.
There are some fb groups setup as second hand market, like a classifieds site, where you want to just message the seller and not add as a friend. Currently, in each ad, if the seller can't find the message, the user has to instruct him to the Other folder and it's working well, people are getting smarter.
I don't see any use of that paying feature because who would really want to message a celebrity? Is it that urgent that you want to pay money to gets his/her attention? What do you expect the outcome to be?
If this is to eliminate spammers, then the Other folder already served its purpose. I don't see any use of this feature, it just sounds like a desperate attempt to extract money from its user base.
Facebook is no longer a social network if I don't get to see all the updates from friends and pages. They implemented ads, it was ok. They added sponsored posts, it was also ok. But limiting the visibility of posts to a percentage is just again retarded.
Their search feature sucks too. I search for a page I liked before and I get related results but not the page I'm looking for..
Moreover, they allow child porn on their Instagram service, not sure how they are not getting any legal attacks.
