Has any small bar or cafe owners had a good experience advertising locally on FB? Did it noticeably increase your customer base? Looking for some feedback before forking out my cash. Thanks

Be verry careful and read the FB ads TOS. Especially when it comes to showing booze.

You'd probably be better off with a free instagram campaign

How?

Tell people who are ALREADY going to your bar you'll give them a discount if they post IG pics with your hashtag

You can also get existing customers to tag a promo image on your FB page or share on their wall

You don't necessarily need to launch an FB ad campaign YET

Either way, install FB pixel on your website to get ready for a future FB campaign once you have enough social traction

yes it works if you are advertising events, discounts or new menus etc be really consistent in your posting/ Ad (be really targeted too) if its for an event keep posting throughout and after the event as everyone who liked or clicked on your initial Ad will more than likely be shown any posts after - the Pub I worked with has tripled their customer numbers and now have a really good local presence on social media so just have to post rather than use Ads now -

Which country/state are we talking about? I see events related to alcohol all the time, but I can't recall seeing alcohol related (direct) ads. As @Seen Here Online pointed out, try out events instead of direct ads. It works pretty well (as per my experience as a customer) in my local area.
