Hey BHW, I could use some advice. Since I can’t directly target interests like 'Crypto, Bitcoin, Crypto Mining, Cryptocurrency,' etc., in detailed targeting, is there a related category or workaround to reach crypto users effectively? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

It is best to work with the ad itself because it plays a major role in selecting the audience, try to make sure that your ad is clicked only by targeted people

go with lookalikes from real buyers, but start from wider niches like fintech, trading, tech early adopters
use crypto-native creatives

Some tips i can give u bro:
  1. Use lookalikes – from buyers, subs, or people engaging with your crypto content.
  2. Target related interests – like fintech, investing, trading, startups, maybe blockchain if it’s still there.
  3. Go by user profile – males 25–44, newer iPhones, big cities = more likely crypto crowd.
  4. Focus on placements – reels, IG stories, mobile + WiFi-only works best.
  5. Angle your creatives – talk about safety, passive income, BTC trends for 2025
Hope you can successful with my tips

Yeah, Meta killed most direct crypto interests.

Workarounds that still hit:
Job titles: Blockchain Developer, Crypto Analyst, FinTech, etc.
Lookalike from wallet/lead list traffic
Stack interests like TechCrunch, Wired, Forbes, Web3 — surprisingly solid overlap
Target NFT, DeFi, or trading platforms (like eToro, Binance, Coinbase) — still allowed sometimes
Also test reel-based warmups, then retarget viewers — FB’s AI picks up crypto context even without keywords.

Target finance, investing, or tech interests, then filter with ad copy and creatives—crypto folks always click what looks familiar.

You can create a similar audience as some members have mentioned or add detailed targeting from similar terms like investors, traders, crypto exchanges...etc.

Use lookalike audiences from crypto-related email lists or website visitors. Target interests like fintech, trading, blockchain, DeFi, or apps like Binance, Coinbase, or Trust Wallet. Layer with behavior like frequent tech buyers or early adopters. Use broad targeting and filter with strong creatives.

crypto keywords dead in fb targeting, but u can go for fintech, trading apps, stock news, or blockchain events. layer in behaviors like tech early adopters or finance junkies. retarget site hits with pixel, that’s where it starts payin.

Use broad finance/tech interests + pixel data or custom/lookalike audiences from crypto traffic sources, works better than direct targeting now.

yeah Meta stripped out most direct crypto interests a while back, but there are still ways to reach that audience effectively. You can target adjacent categories like "Investing," "Finance," "Stock Trading," or even pages like "TechCrunch" or "CoinDesk" if they’re still available. Another solid route is using lookalike audiences built from your own traffic or lead data—that’s been way more accurate for us than cold interests. Broad targeting also works well if your creatives speak to the crypto crowd (charts, token logos, memes, etc.)—Meta’s algo is smart enough to find them if your funnel is solid. We’ve also had good results with Reels and Stories using bold, fast-moving visuals tailored to crypto culture. It’s not as plug-and-play as before, but definitely still doable.
