To be honest I don't think we will even beat Costa Rica.
If Costa Rica play with the same effort they did against Uruguay, there's no way they will lose against both us and Italy either.
And as a born and bred Scouser and lifelong Red, I hate to say this - but Gerrard is starting to make far too many basic and costly errors.
I think Roy Hodgson should stay though.
Uruguay... I love that country. (never been)
They have less that 4 million people.
Won the world cup TWICE (once more than England)
Their president is awesome (Jose Mujica -- look him up).
And... they whupped Englands ass. (hehe)
I actually believe we can still get out of the group, I can see Italy picking up 6 points from their next two games.
Have to agree with you on Gerrard, he has been a fantastic player for Liverpool this season but has been anonymous at best in our two group games.
Also agree regarding Hodgson, he's got England playing better football than they have done in years. Give him a couple more years and look to the Euros in 2016!
By better football I mean playing the right way, not necessarily doing it brilliantly just yet.
I agree with you about Italy winning their next two, but the way we played last night I just don't see us beating Costa Rica. Having beaten Uruguay they also have a huge psychological advantage in their favour now too.
Hodgson has been a breath of fresh air I think - he hasn't been afraid to mix things up and bring in younger talent, which we have been in desperate need of for a long time.
I can see him and the squad doing well in the next few years, but unfortunately I think they should save a few quid and get the flights home booked early.
I really hope it's not the case though, clearly.
