EMD /SEO Question

I'm looking for a domain but can't get exact match, could I ask some opintions

For example if I was looking for RedShoe.com

would it be better from a SEO point of view to go for

A) TheRedShoe.com
B) RedShoes.com
C) Red-Shoe.com

It depends on what key do you want to be in TOP

If it is red shoe - then Red-Shoe.com for sure
If Red Shoes - then RedShoes.com

It is well known that .com domains get top by the keys almost for free

Go for RedShoe.review , this extension is as powerful as a .com for e-commerce related sites.
 
How about the .uk opposed to .com
 
always go for a .com first, .net second and if you have to, lastly .org

that's how I look at it, and I've read that many times on the net in various forums as well

not so much for seo purposes, but just in general, it's what most people are used to, more people are likely to type .com at the end of a website rather than .review

I've got a friend who owns a .me domain and outranks almost every .com in his niche

Maybe, but my SEO experience says that .com are waaay better like .review or others, even .net
Anyway, TS asks about SEO effect

yeah if you're wanting to rank in the uk, try .co.uk

that's probably the logical way to go
 
Does .org.uk or .uk have the same chance of ranking - I ask as .co.uk is also gone.
 
I'd agree that there's not much in the way of real/actual value in EMD (exact-match) domains anymore - although there is some - so I'd go with the more memorable of them which I believe is option a) TheRedShoe(dot)com. Also, the .co.uk options is definitely the best approach if geotargeting.

I think the first one is good, hyphens is not recommended like Red-Shoe and this corresponding convention

If you're really wanting an EMD what about this;

You can also look at red shoe guide.com OR best red shoe.com OR redshorreview etc as you're getting the exact phrase red shoe in the domain.

For seo purposes the TLD doesn't matter.
 
If .com is taken, I'd look for same domain .net and .org. If these are taken, too, then I'd go with redshoes.com. I don't like hyphen, and google doesn't like it much either (in my experience).
 
Keywords in domain is not that important nowadays in SEO. Google now gives more attention to brand name/brand not keywords
