Hello Mates
I am bit confused to selec the domain name for my amazon affiliate site, Should I go for the EMD or a brandable domain name ?

If My keyword is "Best Fishing Reel" then which of the following domain name will be good.
>. EMD domain name "BestFishingreel.com/net/org"
OR
>. Brand-able domain name like "fishingfan.com/org/net"

Please help me suggesting to pick the right one:)

The title of the thread states that you can't decide between two same things really. :)

And my call is brandable all the way for a few reasons.

- EMDs do not provide minimal, if any, SEO boost at all
- EMDs can get easily overoptimized, because you have your exact keywords basically on every page in URL and site title. Especially if you are new to SEO.
- Most EMDs were previously registered and SEOed in the past and many of them are actually penalized or screwed in a different way
- With brandable domain you can aim for a strong expired domain which will provide additional boost

Toss a coin, both have their own fans and benefits.

Sometimes it's easier to find an EMD, others you might just happen across a great brandable name.

EMD's used to give a considerable boost in SERPs in the past, but lately they only add a slight advantage, so if you can find a decent brandable domain, then better go with that.

IMO you should go for the brand domain. EMD is not helping more to get high ranking as like it was.

Yeah you can go with brand able domains it is the best option to build your brand image.
While it takes more time to get branded but Google likes Branded ones.
So try to choose branded domains.

I'd go with something brandable. Especially if you plan to sell it off later.

Besides, building a brand is fun. :)

This question comes up often enough around here that sometimes I feel like its groundhog's day...

Im not a pro, but heres my strategy.

I got for branding AND partial match, with one extra non keyword that helps the branding. That way I am still getting a small boost for my main keyword, but my site name does not appear so spammy, and can be a long term brand.
