Ecom Customer Acquisition using IG comments

I recently found an ecom brand for sale on Flippa: https://flippa.com/10925694-9-month-old-successful-shopify-dropshipping-store-in-the-mens-jewellery-niche-making-25-030-61-month-profit

It is only 9 months old and most of its revenue comes from Instagram using an affiliate program and utilizing commenters.

I am astonished at the numbers and I am puzzled about how this works. I can see that they use a lot of fake profiles to comment on posts and it is usually just something like "DM us for collab @[main account]"

Does someone here utilize a similar strategy or knows how this works?

Yeah, this is a pretty common tactic. If done in conjunction with DMing, it can result in a relatively high conversion rate as opposed to only DMs.

I see this daily in all the niches, Pretty bad spam I must say and don't go for it if you are just starting out.

This is actually a scam where they ask you to pay the delivery price for the collab lol, Pretty common but it's all the numbers which matter here.

Not something difficult, You need a continous supply of accounts doing comments that's it, but the challenge is to get good accounts and knowing how to sustain it longer without getting banned.

Instagram automation ain't easy and they must have spent a lot of time and money in figuring the right way out.

Those numbers might not be sustainable for someone who buys the brand if the marketing strategy isn't passed on the right way or stops working(due to the next IG update).

had never thought about that strategy, it is simple but you can see that it gives good results
