Did you notice that traffic from some search engines like, yahoo, bing and duck duck go has been increasing a little. Probably this is the effect from the google core updates. Also check ddg similarweb.

Not only traffic is increasing, public opinion about Google is going downhill.

It looks worse than Overture, all paid ads above the fold. You can no longer tell what's an ad and what's organic either. I mean we can but end users usually think those are search results.

There was a lot of buzz about DDG lately, because it will be a selectable option as a default search engine on Android in EU from 1st March, hence their sudden traffic increase before the fact.

sometimes i use all of them, google, duck2go, bing, yahoo just to see if something interesting come up.

While Google might not go the Yahoo way, people are increasingly getting disgusted by it

interesting DDG now shows advertising as well. i dont think it was like this few months ago

checked Bing, and no adds!

keyword: best laptop 2020

For one I think it's because of the terms they offer regarding user privacy. It's good for these alternatives to get user consideration. Hoping they won't go the same route in the future.

Duck Duck Go is running campaign against google on the basis of they don't keep the record of user searches(At least they claim they don't). As most people don't want their data/searches to be tracked so their is a bit of raise in traffic of such search engines specially Duck Duck Go.

Google is on decline. Right now I make more money from Bing/Yahoo/DDG and other local search engines, than from Google traffic.

How ironic is that. Google policy say that we should be careful with the adsense placement as NOT to confuse the users with the ads BUT they are doing the EXACT SAME thing.

I’m really thinking to get rid of google what do you’ll think should I do it
A small step is to get rid of Google products, if you still use them, then get rid of the search engine, for personal use, then show something to your users, that other search engines are way better than Google.

I like DDG results but our generation is addicted to Google and I don't think it can be changed within a short time. People just need a search engine for mobile phones. If something innovative comes up like a smartphone app with customization that fits users' needs, then we can expect a huge shift. Google is good on desktop versions, but on mobile phones it is horrible with ads eating half of the screen.

Instead of coming up with new products, Google is trying to earn as much as they can from ads alone. They've added ads to gmail, relaxed 4 ads limit on webpages, allowing sticky ads, filled search page with ads etc.

It's also the default search engine on Brave browser.... too bad fewer people use Brave. It's a great browser.
Isn't Qwant the default search engine on brave? Brave it's now my second browser, it's a good product, and i i kinda like Qwant compared with DDG or alternatives, still far from being a google alternative for me tho.

I stand corrected. I must have changed it when I installed it.

Too Much Google ads Tooooooooooooooo much.. in mobile there are too many like literally too many ...
