I know there is a lot of discussion about selling drop-shipped items via eBay, but does anyone have experience shipping ebay items sold on a eCommerce site?

    Thanks

Yes I have done this, my advice is simple, find a reliable supplier that will white label ship your orders, and id always have more than one supplier.

This protects yourself, should your normal supplier run out of stock/ go on holidays.

    Any specific queries ?

Looking more along the lines of selling one of a kind items. Some accounts in this niche are large and some are small.

Blind Shipping is not as much of an issue as my customers not being able to tell it was purchased via ebay/ at a markdown

Is it best to ask permission from the seller or sell the items, purchase and ask for the item to be shipped to my customer without letting the seller know the deal? Would like to inform them but im assuming some products will not be purchased and i will get a lack of response and waist a lot of time reaching out.

Any input is appreciated thanks for the response.

MUCH easier to dropship if you do it on your own site rather than eBay since there are far less eBay/Paypal interference. But the problem is drawing traffic to your site.

I used to dropship for some ecommerce people, and they would send me their own packing material and I would send out merchandise as FedEx packages with their return address, and you couldn't tell that it was coming from me, and not the internet seller. This seems like the way to go if you have enough volume to make it worth your while.

    Agreed.

I do have traffic and a eCommerce website. I am referring to selling eBay listed products at markup on my site -- direct shipping from eBay seller to my customers. Thanks for your input.

In this situation how are you going to deal with the fact that half the sellers are going to think you're trying to scam them when you request the item be shipped to a non paypal approved address?

Scam? they may assume i am having the product drop shipped, but I'm not sure how they would assume they are being scammed when they are being paid upfront?

Plenty of people purchase on eBay without a PP and just use a credit/debit and plug in their address, correct?

One of the most common buyer scams on eBay is to get the seller to ship to a 3rd address and then file a paypal claim that they didn't receive it. As soon as a buyer tries to have me ship to a 3rd address, I'm cancelling that sale, and so would a lot of other sellers.

People pay with their credit cards through paypal even if they don't have a paypal account, so paypal would still be involved. The only way paypal would not be involved is if the merchant has his own payment gateway (and most don't).

it's actually better if you contact the seller and explain what your plans are. They might be willing to working with you one-on-one and might even give you special pricing, if you ask. That's what I'd do..

Yes, but what's in it for the seller though? If there is a problem, either you or the end user can file a paypal claim and the original eBay seller will lose every dispute. This only works if the original seller pulls the listing from eBay, gets paid by the middle man separately on his own merchant gateway, and drop ships it.

Well whats in it for the seller is hopefully increased sales that they wouldn't be able to get through eBay alone. However, i can see where you're coming from it is a risk for the seller. I'm sure if you gain their trust and build a relationship everything would go smoothly in terms of filing claims, negative feedback etc.

Might try contacting a few sellers to talk about listing items and paying separate/avoiding eBay. Good thought.

As I said, it would be much easier for both you and seller if the seller ships off ebay. Like if the seller has a popular item, and has inventory, he's willing to drop ship for you, and you pay the shipper. No need to get eBay involved at all.
