Would it be a good idea to go door-to-door advertising my new service?

I do power washing and I think that would be a decent way to market my offer.

Let me know what you think.

If you have a flea market in your service area, setting up there with your equipment, a portfolio of previous work and some flyers or cards, you should set up there.

Canvassing is rocket fuel. Hard, a lot of rejection but works if you can handle the assholes who are fed up with door knockers

This is quite a good idea, there's alot of flea markets around here so it definitely could bring in extra traffic. Appreciate the advice

You could take a similar approach to guys like SB Mowing and do the door-to-door thing for free.

That way you start building your brand early...
At the same time, you're pulling in clients through word of mouth.

Ages ago, I owned a power washing business.

2400 PSA, 4 gallons a minute, hot water and I used to take my truck, it was a Ford 250 (I loved that truck) out with a sign asn some flyers, and a photo album, as smartphones were not a thing yet.

I got a lot of business that was as instead of me going door todoor, they were coming to my door at the flea markets.

You would be surprised who walks those markets.

Door2Door works.
Geo-targeted Google-Meta ads work as well.

Do you provide any other services?

I've done door to door marketing in the past actually. Only for a few days but it does work. Mostly a numbers game and you see more success in something that directly benefits the consumer.

going door-to-door can still be effective for local services like power washing—especially if you target areas that visibly need it.

Just keep it professional:Wear branded gearOffer a simple flyer with before/after pics, pricing, and contact infoBe polite and brief—don’t pressure

It depends on your personality. If you are a shy guy like me, you should not do it yourself. Instead hire someone for this job.

Door-to-door marketing can be time-consuming and inefficient. Instead, running Google Ads with highly targeted keywords can be a more effective way to launch local services like power washing.
