I don't think most people bother getting married these days. In the UK you are considered an outcast at school these days if you don't have two step brothers a step sister or two and seven stepdads. Whereas when I was a kid, you was considered an outcast if your parents were separated.

it happen to me years ago , i got married very young , i then split .
i gave her everthink didnt care just took the cloths i stood in .
started all agin .
and i mean it, it many years on, never agin....
what cut me up was funny know ather giving everthink argued in court over 1 catalog bill lol , the judge said what about returning the home lol lol.
i signed everyhink away just to get rid of her / it.
becouse we had a child , i had to put up with the tales from her, from my daughter , as time went on , she lost the lot with drink and bingo .
carmer i say.

Yeah, you're right about divorce. It is one of the worst things anyone can go through in their life. But, just like one user said - it's only a financial disaster if there are no kids involved. You wouldn't be getting divorced if it was meant to be. So, just see it as newly-found freedom and embrace it. And, even if your ex has a grudge against you, try not to stoop to that level. Always be the bigger person.
Actually financially I'll be much better off - I know that sounds mad but that's how it works out with maintenance, tax credits, etc.

Marriage is actually something great (only if you got the right partner) and as days in days out, arguments occur; but how you defines and deal with that arguments defines the kind of relationship you are in with your partner.. Really Sorry for that OP, am 23 but not thinking of getting married that soon may be in the next 3 to 5 years

Dude, if you don't want to get married right now or in several years than tell that your girlfriend. She will either understand or dump you. Either way, it's a win-win situation because you got what you wanted.
