I read this thought provoking post by @splishsplash but I'm having trouble implementing the silo structure using WordPress
https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/the-ultimate-guide-to-seo-siloing-dominate-google-in-2018.985967/
I already have existing blog post articles about a particular HP laptop (currently whatsonsale.com/hp-x360-laptop).
The site currently has no parent / internal pages and I want to add these pages and then nest the blog post inside the category.
Creating the the parent + internal pages isn't the difficulty. As I understand it I can use a page to create the parent topic (e.g. whatsonsale.com/best-laptops/) and then another internal page about HP laptops (url would be best-laptops/hp-laptops/).
I want to nest this blog post under the new parent + internal pages I've created so the url looks like whatsonsale.com/best-laptops/hp-laptops/hp-x360-laptop).
In other words, the permalink is (domain-name).com/(parent-page)/(internal-page)/(blog-post)
One work around could be changing the 'post' to a 'page' using a plugin but as my website is a blog (as opposed to say a commerce site) I'm conscious of interfering with the 'blog-posting' Schema I use.
Another way could be to use actual 'category' pages as opposed to a regular page. However, I've read that category pages aren't the best for SEO and not to use them and even no-index them, so I haven't gone down that path.
Apologies if this is a simple question. I've had no luck finding a solution despite looking around (and stalling my site redesign) for months now while I try to figure this out myself. Hoping the BHW community might be able to lead me in the right direction.
