Domain Name - Need advice on if this can rank?

Ok - have read lots about having your main keyword in the domain name, i can get a domain .com which is basically the plural of my keyword ie "blue widgets" and not "blue widget" (my keyword).

There is no natural domain for this singular keyword ranking in serps but it is a highly searched term:

Should I buy it (even tho it is the plural?)

Can I still go for the ranking of the singular keyword (ie minus the "S) with this domain name and rank high with enough SB posting and xrumer blasts?

How does G00gle etc view domains that are a 99% matched search term when ranking?

I would get it if I were you. I see plurals ranking for the singular search term all the time.

No matter what you do, you have to optimize for both singular and plural versions of any keyword that has both. This is because all the major search engines force you to do this rather than combining the optimization for both cases. It is not uncommon for plurals to have more searches than the singular version. In the particular case of Google, the new Instant functionality will tend to stop people by giving them the singular keyword results before they are able to type the plural term. But not all Google searches use Instant. Many are done in browser search boxes that are not subject to Instant style keyword suggestions and results.

I would not hesitate to buy a plural domain name that had high search volume. If there is less competition for the plural term, it will be easier to optimize, too.

keyword in dn has not much effect, so dont worry about that, take the plurial or no, no matters

Plural version should work well for you. When I search for something singular plural pops up sometimes/ most. Get backlinks & proper site structure & it should be no problem if comp isn't strong. Also check niche, see if hyphenated &/or KW w/ extra word such as site, info etc. at end of exact KW is ranking on 1st 3 or so pages too. Some niches that stuff has no problem ranking but some just won't rank w/o a lot of work.

Just buy the new domain and don't make any puzzle for yourself. If your domain is specific--plural or singular won't make much difference. Just work harder on your content after your website will be online.

it could help for little liiiiiittle niche with no competition, but certainly not for a good nich already competitive.

It is better to create a brandable dn which sounds good and is memorisable instead of taking a name like "mybeautifulcarwithbigaluwheels.com"

Get it. Between typos and decent SEO and marketing efforts (including blasts) you can rank it if you have even a quid to buy or lease a clue.

It is totally fine and it will still be considered an EDM and deliver great SEO results.
