Does Web Hosting also effects Search Engine Rank Position for websites ?

I seen on many blogs and sites they write hosted at hostgator , hosted at bluehost etc . Now question is that if my site is seo friendly and have genuine content and its hosted on shared server and its not hosted on popular hosts like godaddy , hostgator , bluehost etc then could it affect ranking of my website in google.

It doesn't matter where you are hosting your website. However your website's uptime does matter and so does the loading time, the faster the better.
