Does Scholarship EDU Method Work in 2019?

What's up, guys. Just wondering if anyone here who's experienced could help me out.

Does the scholarship method still work in 2019, or does Google now consider it spam?

It seems like a great way to boost your rankings and overall trust with Google, but then again, if it's something completely unrelated, it might end up hurting you.

What are your thoughts?

I also thought these links would be high on the Google radar.

But if you look at the uni sites and check the sites that are using this promotion method, many are ranking very highly and have a good selection of high authority links so I dont know...

Maybe do a test on a site that's not your main money maker?

That's the thing, is a lot of really big sites are doing quite well with this method, so I think as long as you have a diverse and high quality back link profile, it should probably help

Basically you have a page on your website that says you'll give students a $500 scholarship or something, if they submit an article on a certain topic and it gets approved.

Then, someone reaches out to universities, and they link back to your page. So you get a ton of EDU high DA links that power your domain's rankings.
 
Yes it still works.

But like every working method that get abused, google will catch it up soon.

I don't know if I agree with this. Google isn't going to deindex your site for one thing, it's a number of things.

Also, it's pretty common for people to offer scholarships. I think if you ONLY have scholarship links, and like 5,000 GSA spam backlinks then yeah, you'll probably get deindexed.

But, if you have a bunch of high TF and high DA posts from RELEVANT niche sites, and your site is good, I can't see how it would hurt rankings.

Then again, I'm trying it out right now as we speak, so will be reporting the results back. I'm using @BuildMoreLinks service, hoping to get good results. Will keep you guys posted.
 
It is good for diversity but on some scholarship pages, you will see 100-200 links on the same page which looks very suspicious by default, even if is from a big edu domain. Personally I would use a scholarship for an old site with a good profile but not on young ones.
