I have developed a site that offers ringtones as an affiliate. These are targeted visitors because they would be looking for a particular song and that ringtone offer would be suggested as well.
I am trying to get an idea of how well ringtones would convert.
I have heard many different numbers from 1 out of every 300 targeted views and up.
    thanks:)

Well these days everyone can download ringtones for free anywhere but you need some twist on this

For example , whitney houston died , you could make video or website or whatever , hwere you telling about here and in youtube video you could write : Show here some respect , get her ringtone here : (aff link)

well of course you have to think of other text which would convert better , this was crappy example :)

Interesting, even if the ringtones converted 1 out of 1000 that would still be good enough numbers for me. There is alot of resources to get free ringtones etc so I was concerned if that was a reasonable number even at that. Keeping in mind my demographic is 18-24 female no or some college, thinking that may play in my favor.

Like everything, depends on visibility. You might even get higher returns since less competition than before.

In regards to ringtones being free.. Sure, a lot of people know that, but there's a lot more than alot of people in this world, and there are a lot of people who don't know :)

I think I share the same thoughts, thanks for your input. I just wish i could get a idea of how they would convert so I can plan revenues better on the project. One source was telling me for my type of traffic it would be 1 percent. If 1 out of 100 unique visitors bought a ringtone I would be in some serious dough. Keeping in mind that this is a music site that will display the song to which the viewer calls for then offer the ringtone.

If anybody can give me a recent experience with conversion rates it would be very helpful.:)
