Hi

Last year there was a thread on here somebody had uploaded templates/guides for writing articles.
It gave several suggestions for header, intro, subheaders, conclusion etc, then gave sentences/examples for each.
But can't find it anymore.

Does anybody have any guides for writing articles for websites?

I use Jasper AI to generate ideas for those.

I don´t like or trust the article outlines generated by some of these AI writing assistants as they don´t take into account Google´s SERP.

There are a couple of tools that DO take this into account and even populate the SERP results right in its dashboard for you to build the outline YOU feel will be best and more relevant for the content you want to create but, unfortunately, I can´t afford most of these tools and, therefore, I prefer conducting this process manually and just use AI writing assistant to do the rest.

Lastly, I will share my personal process...
  1. Conduct keyword research
  2. Craft a click-worthy title
  3. Build an article outline - Take into account what´s ranking on Google for that keyword
  4. Make sure to add a CTA at the end
This forum is filled with golden gems around those topics so make sure to take advantage of its advanced search feature and do your own research on each of those items.

Generally articles in websites contain : Title, Intro paragraph, Body paragraph and the Conclusion.
Once you've identified the target audience, then based on it, select the topic and an attractive heading. In the introduction / starting paragraph I have seen writers grabbing attention through some interrogative words, which often grabs attention and motivates people to read the article further.
Research is critical in article writing, so statistics, facts and data need to be analyzed and incorporated in your unique manner into the article, along with images and infographics that you may be able to create.
And once the draft is ready, do the proofreading to check for any grammatical errors. It is a good practice also to show the final article to a trusted knowledgeable source or person, to see if any further tweaks can be made.
