Hey everyone,

People are always trying to get guest posts and niche related links in order to rank better and not getting left behind, and it usually goes like this:

Joe is the owner of great amazon affiliate sites in the Basketball/Sports niche.

He then craft a great guide about the "Top 10 Basketball Tips", with a great featured image and a really great design.

Then, he's going to other sites in his industry that might be interested to share it, he find out the most relevant personas to outreach too and crafting a killing email.

He set it all up in Mailchimp, Aweber, Gmass, or whatever your favorite emails sending tool is and sending a great personalized email for each of his targets.

3 day later, 1 week later, Joe almost not getting any replies, and when he does get reply - they just say they don't do guest posts or asking money for it.

Joe then stops outreaching, stop guest posting, and unfortunately, leaving this great backlink creation method on the table.

Why does it happen?
The answer is simple - You didn't make them enough interested in your piece in order to make them link to it from one of their posts, or even letting you write a guest post with your link about the subject.

You have to understand, webmasters are getting those emails every other day. That's why they are reacting like this.

I can understand them.

You have to be different and interesting if you want them to link to you.

Assuming you were doing all the technical steps right, like finding targets and sending emails that gets to inbox, and still haven't got any result - the problem is in the content itself.

Let me ask you a question

You, as a website owner in the sports niche, would you link out to every other website who ask you to share their "Top 10 Basketball Tips" ?

Ofcourse not, this content is average, it's easy to find online and it's not making them somehow emotionally connected to the page.

If you want them link out to you, you will need to have a REALLY interesting content or something that makes them emotionally connected.

How to do it?
So, let's continue with the example of Joe and his basketball site.

If it was me, and this is just a quick idea from top of my head, what I would do is:

Going to facebook groups, look for groups about people with disabilities, or even people with disabilities who are doing basketball (if it's available, it's changing between niches).

Then, I would contact some of the members and ask to interview them.

I'll craft a quick interview (like 5-10 questions) about their experience playing basketball with their ability, how did they start, how it helps them and if they have any tips for others with disabilities who are interested going into sport/basketball.

I'll pick up few like this, add them up to a big post about people who are playing basketball even with disabilities.

Then, I'll reach out to disability-related websites, and basketball/sports related websites and show them this piece and ask for their opinion.

Again, their opinion, I'm not even asking for link in the first time.

The Results
Usually, I get really lovely feedbacks, sometimes people even ask for my permission to link out to my post from their blog. I didn't even ask for it.

Then, I reply back to those who loved the piece and ask them if they want to share something similar, or quick summary of my post.

Some guy even paid me $30 :) for sharing a guest post and linking to my site (I paid $10 to the writer for the guest post).

This way, I'm creating content that people would love linking to. And it doesn't have to be interview, you can even research something in your niche and post the research.

You just have to make it unique and interesting, it will make your life much easier while trying to get some juicy whitehat links.

In my opinion, and according to my experience, the most important step in outreach link building, is the content you are trying to get links to.

Have an average content - you will get average results
Have an epic content - you will get epic results

That's all for today guys, let me know if you have any questions below.
Happy Rankings.

Always great to learn new tricks and grow. Thanks for sharing these techniques. More the better

Some more ideas for content:
1) Create a tool - something like BMI calculator. It's really niche specific but try to think about something that would fit your niche.
2) Use maps - Create a designed map for something in your niche. Like a colored map that shows which states in US allow cannabis.

shittiest [tutorial] on content creation...
It's funny how people call to some tips "shitty" without even trying them.
I created successful content time after time just with this tips. Content that created FREE links from REAL websites with traffic.

But hey, it's fun to post negative comments fo feel wiser ;)

Very nice method!

A superb informational post that touches people's hearts should attract links like crazy. We could then add an internal link from that post to a money page to pass on all that juice.

The shittiness isnt from a lack of ability to gather links - the shittiness comes from posting captain obvious methods that have been reposted before ad nauseam. Karma whoring is also shitty...

Captain obvious methods? It might be obvious to you, it doesn't mean it's obvious for everyone else.
Even if it was posted before, it wasn't exactly this, as I never saw anything like this posted here.

Most GP tutorials are all talking about how to outreach and how to find targets.
That's why the industry is flooded with people who buy/sale guest posts from spammed to death websites who became links farms.
I wish I had a guide like this when I first started playing with GP's.

Karma whoring? What the hell are you talking about.

Great share dude. It’s always good to think outside the box when it comes to outreach.

Is it really feasible?

Cause when you message random people in Facebook, the message stays in "message request" section and gets ignored!!

Even if it is feasible, it's gonna be very time consuming to gather opinion from random people.
