Namecheap, internet.bs and Namesilo are my trusted domain registrars. Not the cheapest ones in the world, but their support and quality is amazing.
InMotion and PowerUp are the two hosting companies whose shared hosting I can actually recommend, since I have had really good experiences with both. PowerUp is offering a promotion for BHW members on their BST thread show might want to check that out. I'm not affiliated with either, just a satisfied customer.
Namecheap I've heard good things about their hosting, only have one site on their servers, which was the 7$ for a year birthday deal, but not really using it. Their support is always there for you though, so on those basis I can recommend them as well.
And steer away from Hostgator and GoDaddy. Especially GoDaddy. They are a real pain in the bum to deal with.
Edit: Just remembered, seeing as you want both domain and hosting, do remember that the best option is not always to get them from the same place. For example Namecheap and the other domain registrants are easier to deal with directly, and you will know the prices of the domains upfront. There have been threads around BHW about Bluehost (to my best recollection) at least charging massive sums for domain renewals after the first year, so be careful.
