Expired domains can give you a head start but they're not a shortcut to rankings without strong content and ongoing SEO the initial advantage usually fades
I think expired domains still have value, but only when the backlink profile is clean and relevant. A domain with real niche-related links has consistently performed better for me than one with inflated DR or DA.
I don't rely on authority metrics anymore Before buying an expired domain I check its archive history organic traffic referring domains and whether the backlinks are still indexed and relevant
High authority expired domains can definitely provide value but i don't think metrics like DA or DR should be the main deciding factor a domain with a clean history relevant backlinks and a natural link profile is usually a much better choice than one with impressive authority numbers but spammy or unrelated links In the long run backlink quality and niche relevance tend to have a bigger impact than authority metrics alone
