I've seen a lot of people recommending high-authority expired domains, but I'm curious if they're still producing good results. Are they actually helping with rankings, or is backlink quality more important than the authority metrics? Interested to hear what everyone thinks.

From past experiences, the category of the expired domains must be related to the website to rank. Otherwise, it'll have a negative effect or no effect at all.

I got a domain very instering to buy, but how do you usally do this? you buy it under your own name and put whois as private just to cover tracks?

Any other tip about using experired domains? I guess this is what's called PBN building right?

High authority expired domains still have value but they're not a shortcut anymore i always check organic traffic archived content and the quality of referring domains before considering a purchase

In my experience, authority metrics alone don't tell the full story. I'd rather have an expired domain with a clean history and relevant backlinks than one with a high DR but a spammy profile. Quality and relevance usually matter more than the numbers.

I acquired an expired domain from a competitor who discontinued his Shopify app.

I thought about making a webpage using claude comparing my Shopify app with another competitor that has far fewer reviews but ranks higher, but Claude is stupid and keeps saying I’m lying about my app being the best option.

Not sure what do now since after I deployed a new comparison webpage, claude now mixes my old competitor app name with the new competitor app name for some reason
