If it is for brand recognition, it is better to use a page than a community group because there people can discuss more.

I cannot remember the number of FB groups I owned, but it was well over 50.
I sold some a few years ago and just recently sold the rest.
It was a nice run while it lasted, but the energy no longer gets a return that is satisfactory for me.

FB Groups still work if you focus on active discussion and value driven content. Growth is slower now, but niche, engaged communities can still generate strong leads and trust over time.

I depends how you do it. For some, they are still their bread and butter and an important part of a winning strategy. So, yeah, just as anything, there are many people for whom Facebook Group are absolutely worth it.

Yeah, groups still work but not like the old days.
You can’t just post and expect engagement anymore.
If you keep it active and talk about stuff people actually care about, it can still bring leads.
But honestly, it’s way slower now and takes a lot more effort.

I still remember your thread about fb groups back then, it was one of the most interesting thread on this forum and you kept providing great value. Do you know about any other good growth channel for free organic traffic nowadays ?

I think Next Door is worth pursuing to see as that is also community based.
The platform is a little different in that it doesn't cover mini-regions but rather neighborhoods but I'm sure if you live in Neighborhood X and there are 8 or 10 other local neighborhoods, people would join most of them.

When you say it was a nice run youre referring to owning and growing groups or FB groups as a whole (like using bot accounts to post in already existing groups) aren't really worth the time?

I made a lot of money posting in groups and even more when they were groups I Admined.

I've already prepared 10 accounts to test.. that's why I was asking, maybe I'm a bit late to the FB game

Give it a go because you may learn something even if you don't earn something.
You'll earn something, just not like in the Rock and Roll days of FB spam.

Still worth it if you build around genuine engagement and niche value. FB Groups aren’t the goldmine they once were, but for targeted communities and authority building, they can still drive solid organic leads when done right. Quality > quantity now.
