when I was in college at UC Berkeley, Lucy Guo (co-founder of scale AI, youngest female billionaire) spoke in one of my classes
after her lecture, she really liked one of the questions I had asked her and invited me to speak with her privately
(as a 18 year old I obviously thought she was insanely hot so I was super excited)
im not sure why, but basically our entire conversation consisted of her monologuing about how powerful black hat seo was, and how when she was starting the company they used tons of strategies to kill competitors
since that conversation I had always been excited about starting my own business and using these same strategies to kill my competitors.
fast forward 4 years later, I own my own business, and, to my great disappointment, negative seo is dead!
(atleast that's what they said on BHW)
disappointed, I was scrolling through reddit in the forums that are relevant to my business to see what others have been posting
alas, I saw something fascinating:
im in a real estate agent photography forum
top post on the forum: an upset customer. a really upset customer. hes a photographer. telling me to avoid this random software AT ALL COST
hmmm...
I take a closer look
in front of me is a not-so-obviously ai generated post just berating this software - not for the product - but for the customer support.
claiming that she had been mistakenly billed $530 when she submitted for the free trial
and, here's the kicker, she can't get a refund
this is a fate much scarier than simply having a bad product experience for a broke
here's also the interesting part: instead of just NAMING the software, she embeds the link 7 times in the post!
seven times!
look at this!
alas, the poster, of course, is a 14 year old reddit account with 50k karma and has all their posts hidden, ahhh
now, in the comments, everyone is going crazy.
this is new, this is innovative. they didn't diss the product - they are all screaming about the billing issue.
people are furious, people are emphasizing
in the midst of the storm, a innocent bystander asks,
"well.... what software do you recommend then?"
of course, this commenter also has their reddit post history private. interesting
and then the kicker - the good samaritan - who also has his history private - emphasizes and gives, out of the kindness of his heart, a competitor of his a good recommendation for a specific AI reel generator software - just because he likes to help the community
(these are the only three in the whole discussion with their reddit history hidden)
now here's where it gets interesting
you google this poor software

wow... wow
I am fascinated, disgusted, and inspired
now guess what - google gemini on top of google , chat, etc all say "Reel E AI has mixed to negative reviews and you should probably not use it"
unbelievable
I understand that reddit is incredibly hard to game - and I have been spending hours on this forum trying to learn how to get good reddit accounts at scale
from what ive seen so far - despite hearing vastly different things - is that it is much much much harder now to win in reddit, and you basically need a jail broken iPhone 7/8/x with a crane and multiple aged, high karma (comment karma is much more important) accounts that have access to the original email
I have no idea how to get this or if this is actually true.
