Digital Artist/Editor or Web Developer ?

Hello

These days I am thinking about what should I master to have support through my life.
I have in mind two proffessions which are:
Digital Artist/Editor
Web Developer

I know that there is a huge difference between these two, but I have passion for both of them.
I would say that I would like to be a Web Developer more than a Digital Artist/Editor but again programming is not easy at all.

What would you choose, if you were on my place - and why ?

From a business perspective people NEED websites, so there will always be work, particularly if you also offer other marketing services such as SEO etc.

People just WANT cool artwork.

NEED trumps WANT when there is not much money about. So there are more uses for those skills and so more work.

I should know I have a degree in graphic design!

I do animated whiteboards so am always looking for inexpensive illustrators of characters etc
