Hello All,

I hope you're all having a great day.

I'm currently in the process of setting up the payments backend for a ecommerce business and researching more about Stripe. As a Non-US resident, everything should be setup correctly to avoid any compliance issues or account flags, especially since Stripe can be quite strict with foreigners.

My main question concerns the business and home address requirements. I understand that Stripe typically doesn’t accept registered agent addresses for verification purposes. Is purchasing a virtual office address or mailbox service to use as both the business and home address for the account setup.

Has anyone here gone this route successfully? Would using the same virtual address for both fields raise red flags with Stripe?

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

As a non US resident, the question is; how do you want to create your Stripe account? What type of account do you want to create?

If you go through the right platforms, your business address will be sorted (at least for the first year).

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I will be creating the Stripe account using a US LLC.

My main concern is if I purchase a virtual address, should I use it as both the business and home address ? Also, should this address match the one listed on the LLC formation documents and the bank account ?
You can use dodopayments instead of Stripe.
I will check it out, maybe i can use it as a backup, Thanks !

If Stripe still has their Atlas plan, that may be worth giving it a shot.

stripe not that strict but they place red flags and after few red flags your account is domed no matter if you multi million business or just start up

If you will be using a US LLC to create your US stripe account, then go through the right platforms. (Some platforms will give you the business address to use for 1 year).

If you purchase a virtual address, it means that you do not want to go through any platform to help you create your US LLC.

If that is the case, you can use your virtual address for your business address and use your real address as your home address (no issues).

I myself am a non-resident and yet I managed to create a Stripe account for my company in 2024 with the address of an agent in the USA. So far, no problem, I receive my daily payments with no problem.

You might consider using a nominee or alternative acc setups to meet platform requirements

What exactly are you selling?
