Hello everyone,
I have been selling counterfeit products on ebay, and one of them was closed down, and i stopped selling that product
Today, i received a demand / threat to sue packet from the law firm Johnson and Pham (which is notorious for their scare tactics).
They want me to send them all of the info from my sales (where i got the product, how much i've sold, etc...).

The thing is, my name on ebay / paypal is FAKE.
I ALWAYS used a PO Box which was registered under my name (But always shipped things out using my FAKE name)
My PayPal is under a Business name / EIN.
The business EIN is under my real name / SSN.

If I choose to ignore all of the law firm's requests, is it possible for them to find out my identity, and sue me?

Yes. As long as you used your real particulars, they will be able to track you down.

They are basically asking you to snitch on yourself. Do you think they want to know that information so they can just leave you alone? Say nothing until you are served.

Do you know if there is any possible way for them to find out my real name through a subpoena of my PO Box or Business name?
Sorry if that's a stupid question; I'm obviously new to this..

I only used my real name/ address when registering for the PO Box and the EIN.
Can they find that information in any way?

Unless $100K+ is involved or something, I wouldn't be worried about it. Remember, it costs around $30K to sue to and take you to trial. In 99.999999999% of the cases it's not worth it for them to actually go through with it. What they're trying to do is scare you into paying a $3K-$5K settlement.

Remember, you are not under ANY responsibility to cooperate with them on anything. Most of these things are fishing expeditions where they try to get $$$ out of people with as little work as possible. As far as they know you are some chinese dude shipping with a fake american account, and it will cost thousands just to establish your identity.

My 10c worth : If you play with fire you get burned.Why sell fake stuff anyway? Why use false details... My advice start a legit business then you cant go wrong.

Find a legit product to sell, get a website going, use AMAZON and eBay to enhance sales and play the game with these marketplace sites. Run hundreds of accounts, who cares, they're getting their money.

I have sold tons of Vero in the past! Very easy to get around allot of things just got to be smart about it with pictures and all particular things. Specially need to research the company's main website they are located. Because usually they have scouts that buy stuff on eBay to catch people selling counterfeit products.

Under the Vero program, the company doesn't even have to catch you selling counterfeit merchandise to take down the listings and get you in trouble with eBay.
