Hi there,

I am looking for advice on placing Cold Caller Ads in CL, etc.

Can you give us an example of ads and the process you used to bring on commission only cold callers?

Thanks.:D

Try: Looking for Cold Caller Will Pay You Per Call/lead Set up for Appointment

At least that's what I MYSELF got paid to do so it could work man

That is one of the most basic but well done, weed out the bs style ads. I've personally put some up like this and responded the same way. You will be surprised if you are straight forward, they will be straight back. Outbound, or any reps in a call center, will be very up front if they are top performers. Top performers make $$$$ in centers, you want those guys, so be prepared to deal with some very strong personalities.

You don't want a wishy washy person applying and wasting your time. When I have hired guys to increase sales, I have told them straight up what I am looking for....theres plenty out there...if you want 1 by the end of this process you will have your choice from about 3-5 depending on where you are...the others are already making 80-120k a year on the phones for someone else

Awesome Risky Business!

Risky Business (& anyone else who wants to jump in),

Your answer was excellent for my starting question of hiring commission only sales. Thanks again.

What are your thoughts on offering a hourly rate ($8-$10hr) with reduced commissions. It has been suggested elsewhere that getting good commission only sales folks is difficult to start with, and that it is hard to keep them focused between pay dates. I don't know if that is true, but there are a lot of ads on elance (and others), that seem to take that approach.

Also, instead of a "closer", I have been considering having the direct sales person set up "website analysis" meetings. The sales person, would offer a free expert analysis, get the relevant information and schedule the meeting. In this scenario, I would walk through a detailed analysis of web marketing functionality, seo, social integration, etc. and be the closer.

So now we are talking about four models:
1. Closer - Commission only - Completes SEO sale over phone
2. Closer - Base + Commission - Completes SEO sale over phone
3. Appointment set up for website analysis - I close later - Commission only
4. Appointment set up for website analysis - I close later - Base + Commission

Anymore thoughts on pros, cons, which is a more effective approach?

I would set up it as a high commission on a draw.

Give them a guaranteed $10 pr/hr x how many hours in the week. Pay them the normal commission, whatever you were thinking of before, but it chips off of what the guaranteed is.

Ex.

$400 a week guaranteed (40 hours)

They make the normal commission and make $350 in commission.

Pay them $400 for the week and the next week they have to make $450 in commission or you look for someone else.

OR - what would be better

$400 a week in guaranteed pay

They hit $500 a week in commission, you pay them $500.

Next week start over - $400 guaranteed.

This is very common on sales floors, jewelry stores, high end retail and the sort. If you have any other questions let me know in PM and we can talk on the skype.

One thing with agents is that they will not work for 100% commission. There are so many TM jobs out there, why work for no money, especially during the training period. Heres what we do, wroks like a charm. Ads on CL is perfect, do you have business or is this out of their home? We have an office, you can modify this idea if you want. Put in you CL ad a high hourly $12 per hour, plus bonuses, plus commissions. You will get alot of calls. At the interview, if they are good and you want to hire them, tell them you have a 4 week training period. The first 5 days are unpaid training ( first 2 days, 3 days whatever). Then the next two weeks are paid at minimum wage, then the forth week is at $10.00 per hour and commissions kick in. So you have them for a week free, if they suck let them go. If you are on the fence or like them, the next 2 weeks are at minimum wage, you will make some sales off them free, if they suck let them go, you are not out that much, If you like them and they produce, 12 is cheap to pay for a solid agent....There you have it.
