What are some recommended inexpensive Cloud VM / Instance hosting services (like Digital Ocean, Linode). I'm developing two projects, and it would be helpful to setup some VMs on services whose IP blocks are not on the major lists for content blocking.
The other thing I am working on it a benchmarking tool for Cloud and other web hosts to have a comparable set of metrics for processing power, memory, database speed / response times, latency to various fixed locations over time, etc.
Does anyone use anything to gauge what a host offers compared to what is advertised? Even as an engineer its impossible to compare anything when there is no standard meaning for "CPU" or "vCPU", 2GB RAM seems clear enough, but is it shared? is that the burstable limit?
Thanks in advance for any input
