Hey just wondering if anyone knows whether altering the browser fingerprint thru chrome network conditions is effective in spoofing the OS my device appears as?

Changing network conditions + UA String in Dev tools may help for some sites, But modern sites use much more information than just user agent string, Test it yourself, you will see a ban or ghosting if it does not work.

There's a huge amount of things that go into hiding yourself.

Hell, even some websites can identify you're using a canvas fingerprint blocker and silently ghost you.

You are right!
Blocking canvas can result in things not go through. Eg. post, reviews etc.

Not quite blocking the canvas, but having the extensions give away some other things.

It's really tricky.

It completely depends on WHO you are trying to trick. If it is some basic website it might work but Google or other services will easily detect it
