Checkout page take 3x longer to load than main page.

Try Autoptimize plugin and see if it makes a difference and check out Google page insights for more info on whats making the page to load that slow.

Alternatively it might be worth checking what PHP version you use. Try to find that info on the System Status Report Page: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/understanding-the-woocommerce-system-status-report/
And as a last bit of info: does your complete site run on TLS (aka SSL) or only the checkout page?
