I know about copyscape http://www.copyscape.com/ but does anyone know of a good site I can check an article for plagiarism before I post it online

I Google the 1st paragraph this is probably the best method so far. I have also used:

http://www.articlechecker.com/ - no so great

Any others?

I have used http://www.plagiarismchecker.com/
seems to work ok.

Here's an idea - someone make a bot that incorporates all of those into it and sees if it's used anywhere. I think most sites use Copyscape, however I think Ezine might use something else.

Well copyscape only checks the sites, as far as I am aware - it asks to enter a URL - so you have to upload it 1st and I want to cut that stage out, I want to find out if it's copied before I upload it to my server.

Thanks for these other links, keep them coming...

I may amalgamate these and create one site that does it all, however, that's all Google is lol

Same here. Although, I still don't trust it - I feel like the professors get an extra level of checking that students don't. So we can get bitten in the ass if we don't check them against multiple checking sites vigilantly.

I still believe in deep scanning the documents, if you google various lines in the document you'll be good I think, but this is pretty time consuming...

It's a measly $5 to get credits for the Copyscape "premium search" where you can paste your text into their box (on the other side of the login) and check it that way.

$5 for 100 credits. It'll probably take me a year to use all 100 credits, but I'm allergic to PITA, and that's what uploading each article to my site first would be

i use dupefreepro it works ok too but nothing beats copyscape in my opinion
