Updates to our support channel have now been completed.
We will continue to work on ensuring a smoother support process.
Items to note.
  1. The support channel has been redesigned.
  2. Tighter forum integration for example - Integration with moderator pm's so the team can escalate chats into support and raise a ticket for you with the history of your chat with the moderator.
  3. Many backend improvements to ensure a faster resolution to your query.

The rules for joint venture sales threads have been posted in the marketplace rules under chapter 1, section, point 15.
Joint Venture Sales Threads Are Permitted.
  • Up to 2 qualifying members (i.e., Jr. VIP/Marketplace Seller membership with no active infractions) may start a sales thread together.
  • One seller must submit the sales thread for review. The other seller must be mentioned in the sales thread for transparency purposes.
  • Both sellers must comply with the forum and marketplace rules. Failure to do so will result in action against both sellers and the service.
 
As of 27th March 2023 all BHW newsletters and some admin messages in your conversations folders that are over 5 months old will be removed.
This 5-month purge will continue on a rolling basis.
If you would like to keep any of the information contained in the BHW newsletters then please save the links to the thread in question using the forums bookmark functionality or your browsers built-in bookmarking tools.
Personal pm's (ie member to member) will not be impacted by this change.

Due to the changes in the terms of service announced at imgur around content removal of anomalous accounts, we have removed imgur as our recommended image hosting provider.
When uploading images into posts please use the built-in insert images process outlined in our newbie guide article here.

Please note the change in the marketplace-recommended image upload process as outlined here. Section 1 point 12.
There is no need for you to submit change requests to make changes in any posts we are working on a solution to transfer all existing images in forum posts.
Images in signatures will need to be re-uploaded using this process https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/how-to-create-a-signature.1042239/, specifically the section entitled 'How to upload your signature banner.". Please note all Imgur signatures will be removed in the next 10 days.

Further updates this week include but are not limited to.
  • Security updates.
  • Improved error handling on Marketplace submissions.
  • Ad placement optimisation.
  • Support feedback improvements.
  • AdBlock warnings fixed. As AdBlocks recent updates have had such a strong impact on the usability of our forum, we've made the AdBlock warning message fixed until the user whitelists BlackHatWorld.com or pauses AdBlock on our domain.

30th August update.

Thanks to all who commented on this in the AdBlcok / EasiList below - nice to see they made the edit from blocking all links. We'll roll out a new AdBlock app, as we're aware of a few false positives, in the next few days. We'll post an update here once complete.

We are aware of an issue with AdBlock and uBlock Origin due to a recent update from their side relating to Easylist. We are working on a resolution with them. In the meantime, please read the message that appears at the top of the screen and permanently pause AdBlock / uBlock Origin from BlackHatWorld.com

Update:
We've removed the requirement to enforce pausing AdBlock on BHW whilst we speak with AdBlock, uBlock Origin and Easylist.

Other items we've found that have fixed the reported issues.
  1. Check you're on the latest version of your OS and browser (especially Firefox) this has fixed many of the reported issues.
  2. Check you've "paused" AdBlock (including the pro version) for the entire site not just once as the next time you come on it will still display the error message.

We've made our Chargebee and forum-based notifications for expiring and expired subscriptions more informative.

To clarify, they now direct you to all of the URLs you'd need to visit to renew a subscription and create a new subscription. Additionally, there's an FAQ in all of the messages that many of you should find very helpful.
 
This downtime has now been cancelled.

Due to essential maintenance work on our hosts data center our servers will be shutdown for a short period (no more than 45 mins) between the following times.

We've always stressed in rule #1 that only transactions that began on BHW are eligible for a dispute resolution thread (i.e., you posted in the sales thread, started a conversation with the seller, got redirected from their sales thread to their site, etc). However, the template didn't actually require any proof in the form of a link or screenshot to a post or DM. We can imagine this led to a lot of frustrating rejections for some of you, so some adjustments have been made to the dispute resolution template and instructions to solve this problem.
