I'm also really interested in seeing how things pan out. I think the results should be good. The keywords are really easy and the main keyword was on page 3 only with the links the expired domain had.

With the social signals and the homepage links, I think the rankings will shoot up. We'll know in a month or so.

I got a review copy myself, like your social signal one, and it contains quite a lot of links so I hope that mine will shift a lot in rankings as well. Currently in #10 for my main term, interested to see how everything will turn out.

Your keyword may not be as easy as you thought it was. If your keyword is very easy, it should be on page 3 or page 4 just with on page and a few links.

Very interesting journey. Can you do me a favour i regularly use - keywordrevealer.com/keyword_tool.php tool to check kw competition. Can you too check your keyword difficulty and post the screenshot of your score It is free for trial. So it will be more clear how difficult your keyword is.

I already know how difficult my keyword is. Not at all. Without even a single backlink, it was on page 3 as soon as the domain got indexed.

Also I don't really believe most of these tools because they calculate the competition using Moz metrics which are the shittiest metrics to use.

Moz doesn't have 90% of links in its database. With such a shit database, I wonder why so many keyword tools use their metrics.

If you check the keyword services of any of the reputed sellers here, you'll see that they all manually check the first page results and ensure that there's no competition.

Exactly on point. All tools are just giving better and lets say organized insights, at the end of the day you need to decide yourself how easy/hard your kw is by manual check.

Keyword tools use their metrics because they have free api accounts and their API rates are cheaper then the rest i believe

I beleive whatever you said would be true. Manual check is the best way to check keyword difficulty i agree with that. But i stated that for most of the keywords me and many other use the piece of crap to just get a rough estimate of how difficult it is. I know that you knows how diffiucult your kw is but i thought this case study is also for other people as well.

This is my first time too. I'll let you know how it goes. I don't expect to make much (if any) money from this site. But at least I'll know if it's possible to rank a site for cheap.
 
Nice journey OP. I am currently doing the same since a month or so.. got an anime kw with 13k monthly searches and practicly no compeititon. Only difference is that i actually bought a new emd domain for it.. currently building links to it.
PS. i don't know how copyrighted your keyword may be, but have you considered moving your site to an anonymous btc hosting? To avoid legal trouble..
