As an experiment, I want to see if it's possible to build and rank a website for $100.
Here's how I'm planning to do it.
Keyword:
I've already found a keyword in the anime/gaming niche and it has virtually no competition. The first page just has a few download sites and forum posts.
It's in the gaming/anime niche and has 30,000+ Monthly Searches. I also found a related keyword with 20,000+ searches.
If you don't want to spend time digging through thousands of keywords, I'd recommended buying CPA keywords from @ZlatanTheGod.
I got 3 keywords from him last week and they have huge search volumes and virtually no competition. If this site I'm creating ranks on page 1, I'll probably try to use the keywords I bought from him in this site too.
I'm not using those as the main keywords for this case study because I'll end up exceeding the $100 limit I've set for this experiment.
Domain:
I can't use a brand new domain for this experiment because I'll end up spending most of the budget just on backlinks. I chose to use an expired domain so I don't need to build any foundation links.
I bought an expired domain from @Nargil. He gave me an awesome domain with around 40 RD and over 3000 backlinks.
Since this domain already has great links and diversity, I can just build PBN links straightaway. The domain was in the comic niche but it's easy to repurpose for anime/gaming. I'll redirect all the backlinks to my homepage using the 404 to 301 plugin.
Hopefully I'll need to add just a few PBN links for my keyword to be on the first page.
Domain: $20 including registration.
Hosting:
I already have several hosting accounts so I'll be using one of them. I've already set up the hosting with a free SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt. I've also enabled Cloudflare so that the site loads fast.
Website:
I'm creating a simple website with just 6 pages using the X theme. It's got the Cornerstone Page builder which I like a lot.
I'll have the following pages on my site:
Home, Keyword, Related Keyword, Privacy Policy, TOS & Contact Us.
I won't be using any posts on this site. All the content will be created on pages. The two pages that will be optimised for the two keywords will be interlinked to each other. Except the home page, all the menu links are no-follow.
I've removed the footer and all the social links that were set up by default. I don't want any juice leaving the site.
For the layout, I have a call to action above the fold with a heading that contains the keyword and a big, bright yellow button. This button is monetised with a URL locker by CPAGrip. After completing a survey, the user will be redirected to a ZippyShare download.
There'll be several additional download buttons throughout the page.
Content:
I've ordered 2000 words for each of the keywords and 500 words for the homepage content. That's a total of 4500 words. I used a plugin for the TOS and Privacy Policy so I don't need content for those pages.
Since I need to conserve the cash for links, I can't spend too much on content.
I've ordered content from @TechFinder
I paid $27 for the content. I already have the article structure I need. I've also researched lots of LSI keywords to add relevance to the page. Google should see the page as a highly relevant resource for the keyword.
Content: $27.
Links:
Thanks to the expired domain, I don't need to bother with diversity or velocity. I feel that within a few weeks, the site will be on page 2 or page 3 without any link building.
I've used the Linkhouse.io service by @nikchaing before and I got great results with it. I'm sure 10 links from his service with the exact match anchor will put me on page 1.
The best part is that I can rent 10 links for $14 a month (with the coupon). Without the option of renting links, I wouldn't be able to do this experiment unless I decided to use one of the spun content PBN services.
By the end of the second month, the rankings would be stabilised and I can then decide if I need to rent any additional links. If additional links are required, I'll probably end up busting the $100 budget.
Links: $14 a month.
As of now, I've done some of the basic site layout stuff and created the pages and menus. I've ordered the content and I'll buy the links after the content is indexed.
Total Expenses: $47
Traffic: 0
Hopefully in 7-8 weeks, I'll be on page 1 for my main keyword. If the site ranks well, I can add additional keywords in the same niche and rank them.
I also have the option of using the CPA keywords I got from ZlatanTheGod in this site.
I'm pretty excited to see if it's possible to get to page 1 for 100 bucks.
Do you think this will work? Let me know.
