That's awesome. Since I already have a lot of Web 2.0 and other diversified links, I've decided to go with PBN posts instead of the Web 2.0 and Guest Post approach you took. Ranking a site in $52 is amazing!

just check one of my last buys ... it was from seoclerks 5 niche pbn links and they where really not bad for that money ....

I already posted the service earlier. It's a PBN rental service by @nikchaing. I've used it in the past on a much more competitve word and I was on page 2 in a couple of weeks just with 10 posts.

I shouldn't have a problem getting to page 1 with his links and it's just 14 bucks a month for 10 posts.

Not really. Just waiting for the content to index as of now.

I'll be buying the PBN links in a couple of days. As of now, the main keyword is at 28 and the related keyword is at 39.

@nikchaing was kind enough to give me a review copy of his new social signals service. I should be getting the report for that any day now.

just want to ask - do you think having pbn links as backlinks isnt dangerous? (PBN can be devalueted) and ok for stable SERP?
i thought, may be it is better to use web20s as buffers for pbn links...
not sure.

Since this is a casestudy to rank a site within 100 bucks, I've outsourced everything (except the website layout and hosting) so I can track costs. I could have used links from my own PBN but then that wouldn't be fair.

Also, there's always a risk with any links you build. However without PBN links, it takes too long to rank a site. For me, the web 2.0 buffers haven't really given great results. So I've decided to use PBN links directly.

It also depends on which service you use. There are some very good services here on BHW that give great results when pointed directly at your site. I've bought a lot of PBN services here and I've never had a site penalised.

Unforunately i had 80% PBN links devalueted (that was one well known BHW PBN service) - but from reviews - it is really good PBN. I changed anchor texts 2 times there, may it was the reason.
 
Update:

I placed an order for 10 PBN links today. With the discount code, I paid $14 as this months rent.

Total Expenses: $61
Income: 0
Current Ranking: Main - 37 Secondary - 42

Probably some personal connection.

I'm really interested in how the links affect your rankings OP since I'm doing a similar thing myself!

Since my whole case study is dependent on renting links and there's nobody else who does that here, I requested them to allow me to place an order for 10 links. They said that they can do it as long I don't mind a few links from the same domains from my previous order. The previous site I used that service for was an insurance related website so I don't think there should be any issue since this is a totally unrelated niche.

I checked out your journey thread and it looked interesting.

I'm also really interested in seeing how things pan out. I think the results should be good. The keywords are really easy and the main keyword was on page 3 only with the links the expired domain had.

With the social signals and the homepage links, I think the rankings will shoot up. We'll know in a month or so.
