Case Study: Niche Site after 4 months applying only Whitehat technique

How long are the articles you are posting and how much have you been paying for content? I saw you switched from writing yourself and started to outsource the content. also, what is the total word count of the content on your site if you know? Good luck with the rust of your journey. You seem to be killing it.
all my My articles have more than 1500 words, I have been paying for the content between $15 to $35 per article, I guess the total word count is like ~50k. Tbh I just like to outsource to save time, but I really take my time to polish and to improve delivered content, I also make a lot of checks before accepting the delivered content as you should not rely on plagiarism checkers.

Very nice, how many articles on your website now? what backlinks do you make?
I have 27 articles at the moment. I do not invest a penny either a minute of my time looking for backlinks, they all come naturally.

It's great to see that you're making more from Ads than affiliate (which was your initial monetization method)

From my experience, targeting informative keywords that can generate good traffic is what every affiliate website should do instead of only going after buyer intent keywords.

They may not convert with affiliate network but these can be monetized in a lot of different ways. And kudos on starting to collect email subscribers, great decision there!

Good luck :)
Yeah I really though I could be kill it with affiliate marketing, but it seems it's harder, Im looking to create my own product and stop promoting other's people products.

Yes you are right, I think you should do both, paid traffic is like paying rent... But Organic traffic is like owning the house. In the long run organic Google traffic could be massive in terms of ROI compared with paid traffic.

All my articles have at least 1500 words each. Well regarding your other question, it is all about creating high-quality content in low competition topics. You need to find topics where there is little or no competition. I have explained this before. I will quote it again:

For those who don't know this is the keyword tool I use.

I have a cheat sheet to choose the keywords

1. Keyword score below 25
2. Google results below 10 million proportional to keyword difficulty. For example: the higher the score, the lower the amounts of results in google to consider it.
3. I look to the competitors that are ranking on the first page, I check their social signals, I check content quality, I check backlinks, etc. If I can outperform them I will go for it.
4. Another good sign is when the first page of Google has Pinterest results, or an Instagram page, quora question, Reddit thread... That means there are not strong landings created specifically for that term.

Well, I think that's what I look for.

PARTIAL UPDATE
I broke up the 50k sessions in 30 days milestone!! Well, it took me 9 months to achieve this traffic.

Captura de Pantalla 2020-09-11 a la(s) 9.42.06 a. m..png

I'm so happy! I have started my application for Mediavine! I'm a little bit disappointed with Ezoic as my ePMV is very low around $4.5. I have been using Ezoic for 28 days now and my ePMV is not improving. I have seen other people earning ePMVs of +$10 even +$20 on Ezoic, so I'm not sure why it is so low in my case.

I hope to get approved on Mediavine soon. I'll keep you updated!

UPDATE
I wanted to update my journey, I will update for September month and in 15 days I will update for October.

I had a drawdown in traffic and earnings this month, I hope it improves for next month, I had some personal issues and I couldn't publish too much articles as I wanted, but this month Im trying to do the homework:

Semrush keyword ranking:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-10-17 a la(s) 5.03.09 p. m..png

It started to increase again and for this month it is even higher, so far so good.

Search Traffic Stats:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-10-17 a la(s) 5.04.21 p. m..png

It went down from 39k to 30k still good traffic, but I wanted to go higher. I earned a total of $222.77

I couldn't reach the goal of $500 this month, although October is looking promising, I still keep focused on the first milestone.

My average ePMV for ads is still low at $4.42 It seems my site can't go higher in terms of ads income. If I want to earn more I will need to increase the traffic.

I got rejected from Mediavine by the way. That was sad, so I think I will have to stick with Ezoic for now.

Search Console Stats:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-10-17 a la(s) 5.10.35 p. m..png
My site had a spike in August, and then went down again, it seems that for some reason a lot of people started to search some of my keywords massively and that caused the traffic spike. I hope to get more spikes like these in the future. I checked in google trends the terms and they have a similar graph so I'm sure that my site didn't go down in SERPs, it's just a matter of amounts of searches for those terms.

That's all for now, Im still working hard to reach the first milestone of $500 in one month, I will not stop until I achieve it! and beyond!

I will post another update for the month of October soon, I'll keep you updated!

OCTOBER UPDATE:
My traffic keeps decreasing, as you already know it was caused due to a market trend issue but my rankings are still intact. The site will probably have another spike in traffic in Q1 or Q2 2021.

TRAFFIC AND INCOME:
The traffic has stabilized in 300-500 daily sessions now. Which is okay.
But although the traffic is in a downtrend my earnings are in an uptrend, this month I earned a total of $389.79

I created a graph with the total income I have had since I started the journey month by month so you can see a better picture:
Captura de Pantalla 2020-10-29 a la(s) 1.51.10 p. m..png

As you can see in the last 4 months I have earned money consistently. I think this is great progress.

INDEXED KEYWORDS:
My indexed Keywords continue to recover, and I have 32 keywords in the top 3 which is amazing!

SUBSCRIBERS (Leads)
This site is amazing because collects subs every month organically. The site collected 151 new subscribers in October organically. The site collects from 4-5 subs every day.

CONCLUSION: I WILL SELL THIS SITE
Well, this journey has been amazing, I have learned a lot. I only have 2 months left to reach my goal of $500 in one month.

To reach the goal and beyond I have realized that I need to scale up much more content, the issue is that I don't have the time nor the budget to pay for bulk content, also ensuring high quality costs a lot of time and money. After thinking a lot about this I have decided to sell my site and use the money to fund a bigger project I have in mind.

So I have decided to sell this niche site, I don't know how much to ask for it, so I think I would make a public auction on Flippa.

so for this month, I won't invest too much time creating new content or managing social media, since I will focus on getting a good deal for my site. Wish me luck! and any advice welcome!

Thanks to all of you who followed this journey! :)

Wow, congrats on this successful journey and thanks for sharing. It is inspirational for people in the sandbox phase.
Thanks,I really enjoyed sharing my journey with the community, also it was motivation for myself seeing progress month after month. The sandbox phase is only sandbox before you start.

Wil you sell website on flippa or somewhere else?
Well I will see if I can sell it privately, if I cannot reach a good deal it will go to flippa

@Sebastian Velandia Dont go with flippa. They look for cheap sites there. Its still possible to sell at flippa though. But better go with empire flippers or fe international or motion invest.

Thanks for the advice, I just checked those but they have some min. Requirements of monthly income, my site is small it has generated just $250 in average in the last 4 months. So I think flippa will be the best fit for selling my niche site, however as I said before I will try to make a deal privately first.

Motion Invest sells sites with lower monthly income. Also, have you thought about waiting a few more months to see if your income continues to grow? You'll get a lot more for the site if you can show stable income over 6+ months.

Congratulations on your success, nice journey.

Thats what I found online

Motion Invest, why it’s different, and why we believe it’s the best place to buy and sell smaller websites making between $50 and $2,000 a month.

Selling on flippa is not what it used to be years ago. And if you read about motioninvest even on bhw you can see why its a good option.

Welcome anyways.

Well I just don’t want to invest more time/money on the site. So that’s why I decided to sell it now, not sure if it would be a good play just to stop working on the site and wait the next monthly incomes.

Thanks! I will check Motion Invest! I have been checking similar sites on flippa that got sold by a good price, that’s why I think Flippa would work for me in case I cannot reach a good deal privately.
