[Case Study] Launching a Crypto News Site

Site update.

Changed a lot of plans. Right now i'm just focused on getting to 20 posts a day.

I only have 1 writer and I've decided to dedicate myself to writing to keep his motivation high until I have more.

We're doing 7-8 posts daily currently. Excellent start. We'll pass the 50 posts mark today.
Wordcount: <25,000 words
August: 77 Visitors
Yesterday: 32 Visitors ~ see below for why

1) Added analytics to dashboard and dropping Monster

2) I've shared 2 posts on social media.
- post a: A test to get community feedback on my writer and make him see objective point of views of his methods of writing . It really helped and he's now churing out much better content.
- post b: Went after a little traffic to see how users browsing habits of the content there; Got a fast 30+ visitors. Now I'll see how I can extend their time on site

3) Will contribute 3-5 pages of 'layman-ized' content daily myself. Hoping people notice the simplicity I use as i'm finding definitions of more complex terms cryptobrands use (for no reason)to help reach a more general audience

4) I've already gotten my first confirmation from a major crypto brand ( I work for them) for an exclusive interview. Hoping they will take me to the Blockchain they are on for further interviews in future.


Next goals:
1) consistent 12 post daily (had to scale back)
2) interviews with at least 2 well-established cryptos
3) 100 visitors in 1 day
4) 1,000 visitors in 1 month
5) Get 5 decent generic back-links to site; anything keyword rich will be long-tail pages


And my scaling back wasn't for complications of tasks.
It's actually because I want to spend more time on analyzing user habit and making readers really happy with content / site; Keep the read time high and bounce rate low

interesting. im thinking of doing something like that.

are you onl relying with seo? why not also social media?

Already too many crypto news sites. No barrier to entry, all noobs do it with rss feeds. Better do email sequence or membership discord.

I'll actually have exclusive content no other blog can have in case you didn't read the prior post.

Not sure if you realize how big that is. Relationships change the ball game.

If i have traffic, I'll make money.. period...

I think crypto is the future and I believe you get a lot when things started to get better. many people start to accumulate in the bear market and you can gain popularity in the way to populate the content. keep up the work.

how much you paye the writers? its hard to find good ones for a fair price

Good luck! Been thinking about similar site on my language for less competition reason. But i heard adsense won't approve crypto related site, and i only have adsense in mind when it comes to monetization.

No formula to this. But you should expect to spend at least $500 a month on each writer. I spend closer to $700 per writer and additional benefits

I've wanted to launch a spanish version of my site to be honest. Spanish and Portuguese but .......... Gotta have the money first.

Bro, it's not big. Unless you bring Vitalik on live stream count downing the merge (even that would be a flop compared to expectations) you won't have much. Any other tier 100 shitcoin you're planning to bring won't move the needle. Relationships means nothing when nobody even wants to mention crypto anymore.

That's a blanket statement. How much traffic and how much money? I bet 1 btc that it's going to make less money than a well built discord server with half amount of hours put in.

1) Wasn't planning on applying for Google News so early but I am now. I think anyone considering putting any site into Google news, might want to do so now. The 'Google News Showcase" launch may be hinting that it's the last days of general public having ability to apply to Google news.............. I took care of applying for it on all of my sites today. It's pretty serious to me what GNS indicates.

Hard to find these additional writers but i'm sticking to the script. Looking for writers weekly.

Now, my goal is to obviously increase stats. This month , my first goal is get more content posted and increase these numbers. This will clearly happen as I've begun to successfully share/shill news on social media platforms. I can do more, but I need more content first.

As of Sept 13th,
I'm reaching those goals.

The big things here are I've increased user duration on site and bounce rate. People are spending more time on my Crypto News blog which means the content is working.

I've yet to add to 2 categories on the site, which I think will tremendously increase the duration and pages per session. I should have those categories started this month.

Next steps:
1) Promote news 1x a week to boost traffic
- Get 10+ visitors daily to site as right now, Im regularly doing 1-digit visitors. The goal is 'add a 0' to the end of those numbers

2) Add content to the 2 empty navigation categories
3) Prepare the first interview questions
4) link my Telegram group from main page of site
5) Add social media share buttons to article page
6) Get 3 back-links to site; Perhaps 1 being an announcement of site launch


Google News Update:
I've not been approved nor denied thus far but my content is ranking faster now.

Forgot to note.

Scored a small sponsorship already for a low $$$'s amount.

1st Money for project arrived this week. I forgot to mention this.

Using this to bonus my writer and help pay for staffing.
