    Hey all,

I want to throw a little case study on the forum. The plan is quite simple, I have an amazon affiliate website sitting there for a few months already and without working on it, there is a 10 to 20% traffic growth every month. After all the debates about content is king that we see everywhere on the web, I want to give it a try. Concretely, what i'm gonna do is quite simple : doubling the actual content and mesure the ROI, whether from a traffic point of view or a profit point of view.

Here are a couple stats of the website:

    Number of articles : 26
Domain age : 11 months old
Average words per article : ~1200
Monthly earning: ~ 200 usd per month

Here is the monthly traffic from the last few months:

    traffic montly.jpg

    Other details

Price of my writer : 0.01567$/word
Offsite SEO: 2-3 guest post done, a few web 2.0 properties, minimum SEO has been done.

So right now i just received 5 articles, for a total of 6578 words. I will upload 2 or 3 today, and do the rest during the week. I expect the content to be doubled within 2 months or so.

Questions? Dont PM me and write in the thread, so everyone can have access to the information.

    Cheers

84 <= Bounce rate, shit content? . It can't be amazon looking at your earning and UVs.

things doesn't match, am i missing something ?

If you read well, you'll see that the monthly traffic is not 33k. :)

    Update #1

The traffic increased a bit, and i'm already receiving some visit here and there on the new articles. The second article that i've added already gave me a 200$ sale, which is great.

However, within a short time span, i would not say that there is a major increase yet on the site. From previous experience, it could take a few week to get well placed in serp for the type of keyword thta i'm targeting.

For the next batch of articles, i'll be carefull to choose these low volume type of keywords, but easier to rank. I think thats the easiest way to make my money back the fastest as possible.

Also, i'll try to test out a new writer that is extremely cheap compared to the one i'm using now. Sure, the content might be a less fun to read, but as long as I give the visitor what he wants (pros, cons, etc.), I dont think that would be a problem.

Here isthe first half of november compared to the first half of December

    traffic nov VS dec.jpg

On a side note, by experience, i've had some increase in ranking by adding some fresh content. Concretely, page A would rank a bit higher because Page X, Y, Z would be added to the site. Is this something that some members have seen?

The bounce rate that some posters mention is probably not the true bounce rate. Google analytics is notoriously bad for this. There is a bit of code you can add if you search for it you will find it. It basically sends notifications back to analytics more regularly and you see the true bounce rate. I had one site drop from about the 84% to 13%

Wow thats a pretty dramatic drop. However, I dont really care about that metric. The site makes money and the traffic increases. So it's all good to me :)

You build 2 guest posts, some web2.0s on every page (article) or you just aim on the most important and profitable keyword from your website?
How you get the guest posts ? (You buy from BHW or make them with Whitehat methods ? )

How you made the keyword research for your website? You can explain here how do you to it and how you check the competition?

Thanks in advance, good luck with your journey!

As for guest post, I just did some grunt work emailing blogger that are somewhat related to my niche. Regarding web 2.0, I did not link to all the pages, just the ones that are the easiest to rank and the most profitable for the effort/money invested.

The keyword research was pretty simple, I uploaded a seed keyword in long tail pro, which gave me something like 2000 keywords to choose from. From that point, I checked what the first page looks like for the most interesting keywords. From there, I ordered articles for a mix of easy and hard keywords.

I dont buy much services from BHW. I know some people do and have good result tho.

I also use LTP, but usually I get generic keywords and not very easy from it, this program just scarpe google adwords and select some keywords from it. Anyways, you do the competition check with LTP ? If yes with what Competition number you usually go to check the first page, backlink profiles etc?
