hi guys

Since BHW has given me so much since I have joined, figured I would give back!!

I know many of us are debating which is better (meaning more bang for our buck, conversions etc) GOOGLE ADWORDS or BING ADS??

HERE IS MY TEST: I am running the EXACT same campaign in Adwords & Bing Ads.

I last week ran a campaign of $90 (Oct 18-23) on Adwords in a high-comp niche. I have those results. NOW I bought the EXACT same 7 ad groups, 480 keywords, using the same ads, same targeting on BING ADS (launching tonight) again for $90 (Bing made this easy with a import tool from Adwords into Bing!)

Both Adwords and BING are set to ONLY SEARCH (no network sites, no sponsored sites only ads on their search results pages. Best quality traffic IMO)

Subscribe and I will post how its going, and the full results in about 6 days.. THANK YOU BHW!

subbed.. this should be interesting. Keep us updated!

Subscribed, Lately I've got into paid traffic stuff, love the people case studies.

Waiting for more progress.

Bing often converts better but for branded traffic way more expensive than Adwords in average for our large clients. So might differ for you but in average just cant scale things on bing although the quality is often very good.

I don't pay to google anymore, but interested to see your results.

adwords are tricky, even thou i paused campaign, somehow they tricked me they werent running, the next they i saw i they were running again without my approval...

Looking forward to hearing your results. I am getting back in the paid search game. Used to work with $xx.xxx/month budgets, but than moved to SEO, which was not best choice. Now I am trying to revive some old contacts and started playing with PPC again.

Both Bing and Adwords have their positives and negatives, the obvious are G gets the amount but you pay $$$. Bing usually gets better conversions at much lower cost but you won't get anywhere close to the amount of clicks as on G.

Some industries, like shopping, B2B worked better for me on Bing than Adwords. Keep in mind that virtually everyone who starts with IM will start with Google, so there are some obvious niches that will be extremely over inflated.

good luck and keep us posted

Subbed. Curious as well as there are so many rumors that Bing people convert so much better in almost all niches.

** UPDATE **

Well this is a minor update as it took BING 1.5 days to get the ads live (but their live support is the best!) already a +1 over Adwords let me tell ya!

Anyways the Impressions are low, ctr is high though. I raised my CPC up to $2 for some most keywords, to get a top rank position - let see if this helps get my ad listed... :) i just wanted to let you know i didnt forget this thread..i will be back.

Just the fact they have live support makes me want to throw down 1k and get busy OP. I'll be watching ya and this case study.

Awesome update -- please do update us more as I'm really, really interested :)

** UPDATE ***

Well guys my BINGS Ads are still up and running (been tweaking the $$$ CPC as needed to keep a high ad position) the CTR is comparable to google for sure - but overall costs are lower (due to volume not as high as google) i wouldn't say that a bad thing..since the leads seem to be more genuine. So far im pleased with BING over GOOGLE - but not only for media, but more their Live chat support.

ALSO BIG TIP FOR ALL NEWBIES / NEW ACCOUNT HOLDERS
= Open your new account, get on chat with support, tell them you tried a coupon code you got and it didn't work. They will add some funds into your account (they added $50 to mine, since the coupon codes currently available are USA only - i am in Canada)

Nice thread... subscribing.

Would be great if you could share some stats... like the ad CTR on search pages, ROI and total number of clicks you get for the same amount of money.
