Just curious about WordPress automatic plugins and other auto blogging scripts?

Does it really work? is there anyone who can successfully run an Autoblog website and make money?

Yes autoblogging is profitable if done properly.
The key is not just getting ok quality content but your choice of target keywords and content optimization.
I just target easy keywords mostly informational and low volume.
I also target trending keywords from Google trends.
Questions these are important & fruitful.

Monetization: Ads, Site Flipping.

You can take it a step further by using good aged expired domains

sure it works, thats why so many people do it
in the serps you can often see auto generated (and cloaked) sites ranking in different niches.
you just have to be persistent and not just run 1 or 2 blogs, but create a network. you can also use the sites as PBN then.

can you suggest which ads networks are best for auto blogging websites? (at least I think it's Adsense).
It would be a good proposal based on PPC earnings or maybe something else.

Adsense is fine but you need to look through the GA data & it also depends on your niche.
I always test multiple networks mostly:
Adsense
Media.net
A-ads
shareasale
CB offers based on niche.
