Can anyone point me to a tutorial they used to learn SEO.

when I search on YouTube I see hundreds of tutorials and its all overwhelming. most of them require a website that you pay 100 dollars up to us their tool and the whole outlook looks complicated. I'm a newbie so please what tutorial or guide worked best for you. i just want to have a guide i know is full proof so i can get the basic understanding and terminologies

Keep an eye on bhw homepage every day, see what people are doing with journeys, etc, and what people are buying, and check out the big SEO news blogs and a few smaller ones. If you keep reading regularly, you will eventually get a feel for what makes up the industry.
 
i agree, Neil Patel is a great starting point, also almost any course on youtube is enough to start understanding what this all about
 
There is no single source, there are various approaches, one being BHW ;) Neil Patel's stuff is pretty good. https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/ is another source, but be aware of the affiliate links he is pushing into.
 
Not sure if anyone has shared this but this site is a gold mine it links to heaps of resources to learn SEO at every level right up to expert. So begin at the start and just focus on one thing at a time. You can't possibly get through everything listed on the site but there's a lot to look at if you need help deciding if what you're looking at is worth your time feel free to ask, if I can't help likely someone else will know but this site is seriously awesome

When I asked knowledgeable people to advise me on SEO tutorials, I was told to learn terminology and read forums, especially BHW.
 
I would suggest watching videos on youtube simply)

He is overrated. There are better quality tutorial on BHW itself and you can learn from responses to those threads also.
 
Google Digital Garage's Fundamental's of Digital Marketing is where you should begin to fully grasp the whole idea behind SEO.

I know he is very overrated, but he can be a good introduction. Other than that, you need to consult more knowledgeable people on SEO.
