Buying Keywords?

Today i was approached about buying keywords...?

This is new to me and really doesnt make sense to me...

how and why would someone buy keywords?
How does one know /guarantee traffic once these keywords are purchased?

From what i understand is that you make ur own keywords or compete with the top keywords...?

can anyone offer some insight to this ?

i think what your talking about is the isedn network. There you pay a set price for a key term for a month and your add is up for that keyterm all month. so if you get one visit or if you get 500 visits its the same price.

I am a seller for this network and i have set a lot of different customers up. I have never really seen it give someone a lot of traffic but for the price if you land one deal off it a month it more than pays for its self.

By the sounds of things i dont think the guy was talking about this...

out of interest, how much would such a facility cost per month?

how does one validate a site which would be beneficial?

You mean a keyword research service where someone sells you a keyword like "cheap blue widget for sale." They do the research to make sure competition is low and payout will be high. You buy the keyword, make the site and get it to rank.

I've never done it and probably never will. Keyword research is the fun part of what I do and I've got a knack for it and my own system down but if you're a total newb or you've chased dud keyword after dud keyword, this might be a good option for you.

There is someone here, maybe a few people here, who sell keywords.

Because research takes time and some people who actually want to run business's may choose to outsource this process and focus on making their clients site
