I designed a BOT for a customer which was doing the following actions:
- scraping all members in a group;
- checking each member profile and gather some information about he/she : location, age, interests, likes etc.
The customer did not reveal what was he doing with this data and I didn't insist on it because the price I asked and he paid was already too nasty
I suspect he was using this information for optimizing the facebook ads for his e-commerce websites, but, as I don't have experience in this area I am asking you guys if the a/m information can be used in optimizing the target audience of a facebook ad and if it is a good idea to develop an even more sophisticated tool for this purpose.
I am thinking of adding some features like:
- scrape all the users who liked a competitor ad;
- scrape all the users who liked a competitor post;
- scrape all the users who liked a competitor page;
The big question is: is it still possible to use this information for optimizing the audience targeting, having in mind that FaceBook doesn't allow advertisers to directly target users (by FB ID) or to target the users who liked a specific page.
Also, is there any other feature that one would need from such a BOT, in terms of FaceBook ads optimization/ audience targeting optimization?
