Hi all,

my main money site got hit 6 months ago by a neg SEO attack by someone. This included mostly crappy links on porn sites, crypto, pharma, asain etc etc. This has had no impact with Google, as they just dont take them into account, but has had an effect with Bing as they take links into account more i think.

My main issue is that my DA way at 32 with MOZ and now is at 16. I agree that it doesn't matter in ranking terms, but when looking to offer guest posts, and working with influnecers and partners in my niche i need to get it back up as its hurting our brand and income ability.

I have been through the links and done a disavow file for Google, but as i dont have a paid MOZ account how can i clean these up and get my DA back up?

Does Bing have a report function? Silly if they didn't have one.

Moz has a free trial account. Could you do it during the trial period?

Actually now you say about being I don't think I have done a disavow fir them, glad I asked now. I'm not sure how you disavow with moz, and if they take that into account full stop for everyone or just whilst you have an account, or you cant disavow all fir all users to see etc

You can use any group buys options available for Moz. It will cost you like $10/month. Google it and you will find a lot.

Brill thanks, so if I put in a disavow file or mark them as ignore, will moz start raising my da, do I have to link my analytics account or add a snip of code to prove ownership? If I don't what stops people disavowing their competitors good links? Sorry to sound a little slow today

I am not sure how quick Moz will track this. But it's not an overnight process. It will take a little time to get back your old score again. If you already disavow the links then keep working on the new links. I am sure Moz will take it from their end quickly.

I don't think there is any option you can disavow them from MOZ or any other Link Crawler sites unfortunately. Because their job is to show you the backlinks of the sites. You can try to tell your customers that you had a negative seo account and Moz score went down but it didn't had any effect on Google. Maybe u have a screenshot of previous MOZ score ?

Moz database is not accurate for finding website backlinks. Ahrefs does much better. Actually, if you are worried about it, just sign in Bing webmaster tool and clean up the backlink profile at there

Thanks all, great advice, I think this may be one of the only effects of negative sel these days

The DA algo changed on the 5th of March. Maybe you will want to read more about it?
