Blogging or a real website?

Hi awesome people from BHW,

I have a question to you all, i actually want to make a real website instead of a blog.

In my opinion, blogs are overdone. There are to many and i also have no idea what i should write all the time. Especially in the niche i would make my normal website. I also think it would take a lot longer before a blog would get a good income vs a moneywebsite.

The upsite of a blog however, is that it can be done with way less experience. And not so much money i would have to invest.

What do you guys suggest a internet marketing noob should start with?

isn't it really hard to make a good blog about a small niche? I have a good product ( online course) in my head. But if i would blog about it most of it would be given away freely.

Actually you will need to spend more time on developing a blog then to develop a simple business website. On the blog you need to post on regular basis or you will loose your readers. On the other hand an average business website has around 5 - 10 pages and once optimized can make you a good, steady profit if you know how to monetize it.
 
Both are really good options but i personaly think that if your less experienced you should start with blogging and maybe later move on to real web site..and good luck with whatever your starting with :)
 
If you are a beginner than start with a blog on some popular platform. Otherwise do your own site with or without blog included in it. With the latter option you will have more flexibility but it requires more resources and knowledge.
 
You almost certainly need a blog to rank well. Blog posts 9/10 will out rank landing/category/product pages. If you are concerned with giving all your content away for free, don't write it yourself, just give some writer a few vague ideas about the direction of the blogs posts and edit them as you see fit. Also blogs posts with an inclusive infographic can generate good traffic from social media platforms.

Whether you choose to make a blog or not you should always bite the bullet and pay for hosting and a domain name. It's so cheap these days, you can cover the whole thing for around $10 a month. At some point you have to spend money to unlock real earning potential.

On the issue of writer's block, sites can succeed with a lot of content or just a little as long as the content is paired with an appropriate marketing strategy. You can have a site that's only updated once a month but then each of those updates needs to carry the burden that might have been spread out between 10-30 more regular updates.
 
A blog is a good place to start, If as you say you have a small niche then you can create some really valuable content for your target audience frequently based on this. This will help you gain credibility which can be leveraged going forward to generate solid leads and conversions.
 
What's the difference between a blog and a website? It's just the platform. Joomla makes sites, WP makes blogs....that's no longer true. You can build a nice website inside WP, and the expand the site with blog posts on the very same platform.

umm .. seriously? You are a seo and thats how you think?

# Most PBNs are blogs, because they are best for seo. Easier to put lots of relevant text.
# No one is talking about free blogs. "Blog" doesn't mean its free lol. 100 lol

To OP, the best solution IMHO, it a business website with a blog, a combination of two. And you can still do this with very little expense. Just pay for domain and hosting, find some cheap options. Learn how to do basics on wordpress by yourself, its easy and this knowledge will help you forever if you want to do IM. Find a decent theme and you can build your own site without paying a developer.
 
Depends. Are you talking about a website vs blog, or own domain vs hosted blog?
 
Why not start with a Facebook fan page? Turn that into your blog. Build a following. Later, build up a list and migrate to a blog then monetize with your own sites/products.
 
Make your blog always interesting, frequently updated and informative. Owner interaction helps too.
