I mean blogging within the webpage or in an outer platform, if we want to generate traffic? I know that blogging within the site is good for collecting traffic, but is it also necessary to have an outer blog, like WordPress? Thanks for ideas!

I'd say to begin with blogging on same site is better.

I don't have a source but I am sure I read recently that Google had said blog on or off site, there is no difference (Of course you cant always trust what they say but...).

Anyway, if you think about it logically - content is very important here, so if the content is on your site then you are (hopefully) driving traffic straight to your site.

If you have a separete blog then you are driving traffic somewhere else, then you have a bigger gap to fill in terms of where you want to get leads (your money site) and where your traffic is (your blog).

When this would change is if you are thinking more about links than traffic, in which case having an offsite blog of sorts would be helpful. But I would suggest that the on site blog should come first, and the other stuff later when you have the on-site content to promote with backlinks.

Blog posting helps to gain the traffic on your website. You should post the proper topics with the best explanation which will contain keywords, images, internal links etc. If you will have the best blog then automatically visitors will get attract to your website and it results in increasing the traffic.

This is one of the off-page SEO technique.

Yes If you have a website and want to get regular heavy traffic on your website then adding a blog section on your website is the best. Not only adding blog its but updating also .

There are so many suggestions already offered and I want to add blogging communities like medium, triberr and inbound to generate free and targeted traffic on your website.

Blog within. Now imagine your site's domain becomes authority domain, your blog is much more likely to be affected by your domain's authority when it comes to SEO and stuff ...

Also, trust. I would trust company better if they blogged at site.com/blog rather than companyblog.wordpress.com. Also, if you blog on eternal platform (especially hosted for free) then you don't own this property. What if, for some reason, they decide to close your account? Not good, man, not good at all.
